Austin would awaken to the sound of blaring horns and shouting. Though distant, they would serve to be enough to wake him from the state he'd been in only moments ago. As his eyes opened, he would see he was in a small crater, formed likely by his own body. Debris surrounded him, likely parts of the Starsquall, as well as pieces of equipment he couldn't tell were working or not. He himself would find his body aching, though it was nothing the man could not handle.
Austin appeared to be in a forest, and should he look overhead, he would see a gaping hole through the treeline where he could assume he crashed through. There were no discernible pathways to take, so deep in this forest - the only thing that was clear to him was that a large number of people were heading in his direction, from the south.

The good news was that, by the sound of things, the large number of people chasing him were slow, likely as they desired to stick together as a unit for fear of what their prey may be. The bad news was that, despite how tough he was, the shock from the impact of landing on the planet would leave him dazed and slower than he normally would be. Still, Austin would be able to put a fair amount of distance between himself and where he'd awoken. Strange words could be shouted out, and though he would not be able to understand them, he could infer they were at his point of impact, searching through the wreckage.
As he turned to the East, the sound of chatter and shouting would die off. However, he was no fool, even in his daze - Austin would be able to discern the sound of someone, or something, moving through the trees. The sounds of snapping branches, falling leaves, they were enough to warn him. The hard part was figuring out where exactly the sound came from.
No matter how far he ran, the environment seemed to stay the same. Mostly flat lands, dotted with trees. It was only after a long run would he find a spot where the trees ended, and a steep hill following them.

As Austin stopped his movement, so too halted the sounds. While he gazed up toward the trees, he would hear no more indication of where his stalker had been. Silence would seem to fall over the entirety of the forest, even, until finally, the predator struck. A blade of sharpened rock would be thrown from the treeline, though with no intention to kill - it pierced the soil between Austin's feet. As it did so, a mysterious figure would fall to the ground, landing on her feet. "Rymd!" the woman shouted, stepping forward with another dagger in her palm. She wore a mask and armor made, seemingly, of bone, but the look in her eyes was still one of, as far as he could tell, animosity. "Fryd yna oui? Y cbo?"

[/i]. While he couldn't understand a lick of what she was shouting, her tone and body stature suggested aggression. He inwardly groaned when he realized communication wasn't going to be as simple. His fingers would slowly unfurl and his palms would face this being, his posture only slightly shifting away from it's own defensive stance. He wasn't letting his guard down, however he was trying to less threatening. "Shiit.. I uhh- I come in peace?"Well that sure sounded stupid. He knew he wasn't going to get any sort of response he could even understand, nor did it appear as though she would know what he said either. At least maybe he would be able to assess the situation for a few extra seconds and come up with some sort of plan. [/ul] [/blockquote]

The moment Austin put his hands out, palms facing outward, the woman reacted on instinct. Her own palm shot outward, and as it did, a violent wind burst shot toward Austin. Were he a weaker man, he would be thrown back into the trees, however the force would be just enough to keep a man of his strength sliding back a few yards. When she saw the resistance he would be able to provide, the woman's eyes widened.
"Tasuh!" she shouted, charging at him with her blade held to the side. Once she reached striking distance, she would slash with the blade, which would not cut into Austin's skin. Instead, as it made contact, it would cause an intense burning sensation that would seep through his skin, only were it to connect.

[/i][/b] When her hands came forward and Austin felt the burst of air, he would strain against it. Even so, he felt his feet grinding against the soil beneath him as he shifted his body forward. In his weakened state, he found himself stumbling in the process when the burst died down. He gritted his teeth as she kicked off toward him, once again shouting something he didn't understand. It didn't look like he had much of a choice but to fight her at this moment. Regardless, he wouldn't use his abilities. Not yet. That last thing he needed was her to view him as a monster, which was likely if he used his gift. Instead, when she came into strike he would look to counter and potentially put her into a position that would give him control of the situation. She was wielding a dagger of some kind, so he would be able to be within arms grasp if he played his cards right. So as she came forward and swung, Austin stepped forward himself and off to the side. One arm would would slap downward for the incoming strike, looking to connect with her forearm before she could complete her swing and grasp, while his other curled. It's intent was less damaging, he would look to hook it over her shoulder ans bring it against the base of her neck as he hopped forward with enough force to attempt to bring her backwards and onto the ground as he hopped into it. So long as he got the motion off, he would look to bring her to the ground, mounting her from the top with both legs at each of her sides while he pressured her arm into the ground and leaned forward to keep her head against the ground with his elbow anchoring her head to the terrain below. He would be careful to control his strength, but it was forceful enough to show he meant business. So long as things went his way, he would speak, cautiously attempting to sound as least aggressive as he could under current circumstances. "Relax! I don't want to hurt you.."He knew he might as well be talking to a rock at this point. The last thing he wanted to do was kill her, that wouldn't look good on him or his fellow Astraeus crew, if any of them had even survived. [/ul] [/blockquote]

The woman's forearm would be grasped successfully, but she lowered her body and tucked her arm in, and forced her shoulder into Austin's stomach as he attempted to make his grab with the other arm. So far as she could tell, he was an aggressor, an invader of some sort, and he clearly had strength, based on his grip - so, she continued acting as she viewed to be defensive. With her free hand, she held out her palm and straightened her fingers, then slammed that palm up and toward Austin's chest.
If the hit connected, it would be enough to momentarily daze him, but would lack any sort of damaging force. She simply sought an opportunity to push him back, and had no idea how strong of a person she was dealing with.
"Ehjytan!" she cried out.

[/b] His next action would be swift, while it could be taken as aggressive, he hoped in some sort of way she would understand that if he really wanted to hurt her, he would have done so already. His free hand would lift, form a fist and then drive itself down beside her head into the ground as hard as he could. The language barrier wasn't something he was going to be able to overcome at this moment, under these circumstances. However maybe, she would see what he was trying to convey. [/ul] [/blockquote]

Unfortunately for the woman, there was no way she could foresee her opponent being as skilled in combat as he was. Austin was able to grab her with little difficulty, and as strong as he was, there was no way for her to break free. She tried hard as she could, even as she was forced to the ground. Kicking out and thrashing with both arms and legs, as much as she could, she still found no success. It wasn't until that fist crashed into the ground next to her head, however, that the point seemed to hit home.
There was a look of sheer terror in the woman's eyes, as she watched the man punch the ground with enough force that a miniature crater had formed. Where moments ago, her chin would be above gravel, it was now above only air, and the force was enough that even her mask cracked a bit and fell from her face. Still, she halted now, understanding that even if it wasn't peace this man wanted, she still could not fight back. Not like this.
With a solemn voice, she spoke, "Tu yc oui femm."

[/b] He would shake his head before attempting to yank it free and fling it over his shoulder and away from the both of them. Sighing after doing so, he tried to grasp at the words coming out of her mouth. He didn't really even know where to begin when it came to try to decipher what he heard. Shifting, he would lift himself upward slightly, but wouldn't release her arm or relieve the entirety of his weight just yet. She still showed she had some abilities similar to what he had witnessed from his peers. His gaze would shift to his surroundings, taking them in so he could remain aware. She had shouted a few things, he couldn't be certain that the group prior to her arrival didn't hear her call out. Eventually his hazel iris' would fall upon the woman beneath him once again, whose mask had broken and fallen away. He had to figure out some way to gain trust, to prove he didn't want to hurt her, however he was hesitant to simply let her go at this moment. His free hand would lift and press against his own chest. "Austin."After he spoke, his index finger would drop to point towards her. Maybe she would understand, maybe she wouldn't. However, he was trying to show no aggression here and now. [/ul] [/blockquote]

The expression on the woman's face was one of pure confusion, as Austin loosened up on her. Not enough for her to get free, but still, the gesture was apparent. She frowned, particularly as he voiced his name, and she attempted to repeat it. It was foreign, strange, and rolled off her tongue in ways she was not comfortable with.
"Halani," she replied, assuming Austin was indeed his name. The words he'd spoke up till now told her enough, that he was not from around here by any means. What remained unclear, though, was where he was from, and who he was with. He was clearly no spy, no assassin - if he were, she'd be dead right now.
"Drao lusa," she said, cocking her head to where they'd just run from. Austin would be able to hear chanting and raving getting closer, but at a slow pace. Large armies couldn't move too swiftly, of course. "Ev oui tu hud caag du rind sa, dra maycd E lyh tu ec keja oui desa du kad yfyo,"she continued, knowing he would not understand, but speaking the words more for herself anyway. Fidgeting a bit, she tried to free herself, but did so without hostility. Curious eyes glanced up at him, wondering what he'd do in this situation.

[/b] He had probably butchered the pronunciation, he had only repeated it to keep it fresh in his mind. Frankly, this entire situation had him rather uncomfortable. You could even say he was at a loss as to what to do. Part of him really wanted to return to the wreckage, to check and see if anyone else from the Starsquall had made it. He didn't feel like it was at all possible that he was the only one. There were many others capable of surviving that crash as well. This woman would speak again and he would shift his gaze in the direction she had gestured in. He had no clue what she was saying, he could only assume she was talking about the group he had initially ran from. He found himself silently co templating his options as she began to fidget beneath him. A slight sigh would escape his lips once again and ultimately his grasp upon her atm would loosen and release as he grunted and stood, stepping backwards as he straightened up. A hand would extend toward her in attempt to show some sort of good faith and help her up. He just hopes it didn't bite him in the ass. "I need to go back there.. to the 'BOOM'."He would point in the direction he had came, the same direction he assumed that group was coming from. Austin didn't really know what else he could do. Could he really spend the rest of his life running away on a planet by he could only assume wasn't his own? He had to allow himself to trust her in some sort of way. Like he initially thought, if 'Halani' wanted to kill him, she had her chance already and chose not to. He only hoped that she understood what he meant by 'BOOM'. Austin imagined the crash would have been quite loud. He would keep his hazel iris' upon her, studying her. [/ul] [/blockquote]

Halani stood to her feet as Austin stepped away from her, casually massaging her wrists. The man's grip was strong, of course, and unexpectedly so. Though she was sore, she knew he likely intended no real harm. Of course, this did not mean she wouldn't be exasperated. When Austin signaled he needed to go back, the woman's hands fell to her knees, she doubled over, and sighed quite loudly.
"Cuh uv y pedlr!" she shouted, before standing up to look Austin in the eyes. Without waiting, she took his hand, and started walking toward the hill. They'd established a sort of trust system so far, and if she dragged him into her people, she might get no answers. The language barrier was a difficulty they needed to overcome, but it wasn't going to happen any time soon. So, if he followed, she'd point down the hill, where a grouping of stones formed a small overhang with which he could hide underneath. "Reta," she spoke, hoping he'd know what it meant. Not wanting to leave anything to chance, she pushed at him to try and get him to do so.
All the while, the army got closer and closer.
