Sylvye Harthe, although she prefers to be called Vye or SH.
OOC: Ashelyn
Credit: Umiko Ahagon, "New Game!"
Age: Twenty
Gender: Female
Weight & Height: 155.4 lbs /// 5’4”
Appearance: Click.
Occupation: Head of Tech (on a less serious note, she’s also a gun expert)
Personality: To her coworkers, many consider Sylvye a wet blanket. When on the clock, her only priority is getting her work done as efficiently and quickly as possible. Quite figuratively, (and almost literally), she is a computer. That being said, she doesn’t interact well with others. As a person who speaks her mind ninety nine percent of the time, she often feels as if she’s said too much. To compensate, you’d better be prepared to indulge her hobbies, as it’s the only way she knows how to make friends. These hobbies include but are not limited to: programming, hacking, designing, general tinkering, and airsoft. If you’re lucky enough for her to like you, you may end up carrying the burden of becoming her friend. In that case, she’s usually very nice, but you will receive more death stares and forehead flicks than the average person. Alternatively, upsetting her may result in a pellet gun to the head. Calling her by her name, “Sylvye”, will also result in the same fate. You’d better stick with Vye or SH to be on the safe side.
Background: Sylvye doesn’t really have a story. She showed up at the Institute one day looking to improve the overall use of her gift [see details below]. After completing her cadet training, she realized she wanted to use her gift in a different way than originally intended, which led her to request to use it to build something for the Institute using a special kind of technology she invented in her free time. In just under three weeks, she finished a project called “Prototype U1”, which was essentially the vertebrae to a robotic machine. The technology she used was special because it could only be used by her allowance; she was the battery. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the process behind its creation was extraordinary. There were tons of documents filled with code, concept art, and general blueprints of parts and the machine itself. With this newly discovered talent, she entered a different kind of training that eventually led to her becoming the Head of Technology, which essentially means she crafts the majority of the code, equipment, and general aesthetic the Institute uses, as well as ensuring others in coinciding fields follow her ideas correctly.
Skills & Weaknesses:
While she is nothing short of a genius, Sylvye lacks people skills and tends to be a bit reclusive until an effort is made to be around her.
Because she spends most of her time around computers, Sylvye never gets time to exercise her body, making her very fragile. She bruises so easily it’s hard not to feel bad for her.
Sylvye is very passionate about her hobbies, giving her a lot of goals and inspiration for future projects, however she tends to work so much that it’s sickening to those around her.
Gifts:
The Vye UI: Sylvye’s eyes glow silver and project several screens that she can manipulate with her eyes, or by touching them. These screens can also be casted to walls or other screens. With an IQ of 162, she has nearly infinite uses for her gift. Primarily she uses it to write code for the Institute’s computers, but she also blueprints electronics and prototype machines. Rarely, she even comes up with new aesthetic to keep the environment fresh for the cadets and trainers. Alternatively, this UI also includes a keyboard that can plug into other electronics, allowing her to transfer information to and from her brain (increasing her IQ if it’s the former). Hacking is also a hobby of hers, so erm, be mindful of what you say to her.
Living Battery: Sylvye’s technology is special because she is its power source. For as long as she’s mentally stable and rested, she can transfer energy to and from pieces of technology and machinery, which means she can control their stability to minimize potential disasters. She must be within a certain radius of her creations to charge them, otherwise they run on a limited charge. This means if her creations or blueprints are stolen, they’ll be rendered useless and in turn cannot be used against the Institute.
