Personality:
Ivan is a rather simple man. He is rather tough and mysterious, only for the reasons of progress. He wholeheartedly believes that pain and suffering lead to greatness and strength, and often will be the hand that moves to push others towards their best self. Whether it cause the other person ache or not, he is loving in the way that he will do whatever it takes to see people prosper.

Background:
Ivan Petrov was born in the bustling town of St. Petersburg, Russia on a rather bright day. A bastard, he was mostly looked down upon by the community for his birth out of wedlock. For the most part his childhood was filled with neutral and common memories, that was until his father found root in alcoholism and began to leave marks on his mother’s skin he did not understand. At the age of four his father left their small rural home, claiming he had found better than she and would create a new family. Ivan, being as innocent as he was, did not believe him.

With time, though, the boy accepted that his father had abandoned them. He grew up much too fast, caring for his mother and doing as much as he possibly could to heal her scarred heart. With the seasons came sickness, and that same wind carried away his mother not three years after his deadbeat father had chosen a new life. Being at his age, he blamed the man who was called his parent for the tragedy. His fragile mind believed if he had been there to care for the woman who carried and nurtured him, she would have lived.

Extended family took Ivan underneath their care, and for many years the shattered child fought an internal battle. He ached for closure, or any sort of peace. His heart had become a warzone, and the anger only built within him. Years later, at the age of fifteen, the one who had abandoned him was upon his doorstep. The drunkard babbled on about how sorry he was for the death, and how he wished to fix the bonds between father and son. Ivan, being the man he had become, only responded by slamming his fist into the man’s head.

As he watched his father’s skull crack, the likeness of himself mirrored in his every feature, his closure came. That was the last time he ever laid his eyes upon the alcoholic, though it was not long before people wondered how he had done as much damage as he had with one hit. Truthfully he questioned it himself, and before long he was recruited by a group of in Australia to figure out just what exactly he was.

Ivan became one of the three contestants who created the first successful squad, known as the Belt of Orion. He grew exponentially and tapped into his true power, alongside his comrades Anya and Luca. They together were the beginning of the Institute, and the premise was built to house other gifted like them. With time, Astraeus would form and Ivan would remain with the purpose of furthering those who entered.


Skills and Weaknesses:
° Authoritative
Easily described as “tough-loving”, Ivan prefers to find a balance between becoming overly strict or too indulgent. He will be the first to strike someone for their mistakes, for the purpose of the progression, but also can offer a comforting shoulder when needed.

° Musician
In his spare time, especially throughout his childhood, Ivan learned to play the guitar. The instrument often reminds him of his mother, and so he has made sure to keep himself proficient to preserve her memory.

° Powerful
Very simply put, the man could crush practically anything underneath his fists.

° Scarred
Due to his rather harsh past, and the death of his most loved, he can often find himself freezing up with emotion. He has become proficient in hiding such things, but anything that reminds him of his mother can bring him to feel.

° Cold
As mentioned in the previous weakness, Ivan has become very good at putting up a facade. Though he often has a great deal of pain, he often hones his feelings into himself even when they should be released.
