Personality: Blunt, quiet, somewhat aloof if she meets people for the first time but can be quite genial. She has a tendency to stare into nothing for long hours or be so concentrated with reading a book that she could not be moved from her seat. Has a very huge sweet tooth and likes to munch on candies, but can get very sick if she does so too much because of her poor constitution. Being born in a coven of witches known for ruthlessness, Hecate revels in bloodshed and mayhem but tries to keep it at bay.
Background: Descending from a coven of witches, Hecate ran away from her responsibility of being the coven's next Clan Matriarch to seek out her identity and pursue arcane knowledge. Living a sheltered life in preparation for being a Clan Matriarch, Hecate is not exactly street-smart, thus having to rely on her magic knowledge to survive in the city of Melbourne, where she found work as an assistant librarian and got into school, taking History as her major. She also pursued a Master's degree in Library Sciences, making her the quintessential librarian.
Skills and Weaknesses:
SKILLS
High Intellect: Having read numerous books on different topics, Hecate is what some people would consider a walking library. From history to politics and even mathematics, one could approach her for answers for anything.
Multi-tasking: She is able to juggle multiple work at once without getting too stressed or frazzled.
Polyglot: Hecate can speak and read in various languages, namely Gaelic, Latin, French, German, Indian (she also knows how to read Sanskrit), Chinese, and Greek. Sadly, it is very rare that she can use these skills.
Strategic Thinker: Her mind is ten steps ahead of anyone, and rarely will she make a move without having a back-up plan.
WEAKNESSES
Slow Reaction: Because she tends to think, it makes her slow to react, which can put her in more danger than what she likes to admit.
Insomnia: She has developed serious insomnia, which can cause her to be easily exhausted.
Anti-social behavior: She does not like to be with a lot of people, which makes it somewhat challenging for her to be an approachable figure in both school and at work.
Lack of Street Smarts : For the life of her, she cannot cross the street without nearly getting run over. She cannot easily find her way around for she does not like asking people for directions, and she absolutely finds it hard to be aware of her surroundings when her mind is somewhere else.
Gifts:
Umbramancy: Hecate is born with the power to control darkness, enabling her to disappear into shadows for only 20 minutes, and fire projectiles made out darkness. She can teleport things and people, but at the cost of tremendous effort. It takes her at least five minutes to do so, but she cannot be moving while doing it, and she can teleport up to 350lbs. More than that, all of the bones in her body will break simultaneously.
Sanguimancy: By cutting up her hand and letting her blood flow, she can create blood sigils that can cause hallucinations, or bind a person in their place. These powers come at a cost, as the more blood she spills, the more she steps closer to death.
