Sagi was already a foreigner when the Initiative forced him to move out to Australia, ripped from his home in Japan. Culture shock took a long time for him to get over, and by the time he finally had, it was revealed he was chosen for the crew of the Starsquall. He jumped at the opportunity to explore distant worlds, but with the difficult entry that accompanied their arrival in this new planet, to say he was having a rough time would be a vast understatement. Culture shock wasn't strong enough of a term. Having to fight for one's life was a very difficult greeting to get past. How else could he try to pass the time than through meditation and training?
During his training, Sagi tended to drift from Terra Novus. Travel was not difficult to him thanks wholly due to his unique gift of traveling with his weaponry, so in short time he'd explored all across Ayndr, met all sorts of people, and dealt with beasts of all kinds. The most curious thing he'd happened upon during his travels, though, was no beast, or local - instead, it was the weapon of one of his students. The craftsmanship was something he'd recognize anywhere... Izi's dagger. She was on the Starsquall, but he'd not seen her since they crashed, and he could not find her, but recently he was finding her weapons in various locations. This prompted an investigation from the man.
Sagi taught Izi and because of this he knew her better than she probably understood. So, when he started finding her daggers in this place and that, he tried to draw up a map of locations she'd visited and attempted to find somewhere she'd either go next, or somewhere she'd make her home. As he headed out east toward Serkynmyht, through forests interrupted only by rivers and streams, he felt he might be getting closer to his old student.

Blood trickled down Izi's brow as she struggled to regain her vision. It was all such a blur... the sound of metal clashing together with the intent to kill what was on the other side, the screams of triumph and agony that still rang in her ears, the final blow that sent her into the ditch... Nevertheless, it was just another day for her, only this time she did not stand victorious over her foes. The wounded woman finally found the strength to stand, after several mindless moments of searching the ground for her legs. With a groan, she rose, hunched over with her arms dangling at her sides. She could not accept defeat. Just where did those bastards go? Shaking her head, she searched the premise, swiveling left and right to find a clue - anything to help her relocate her opponents. There was no blood trail to follow, and that was what she solely relied on most of the time. Frustrated, she roared, delivering a blow to her own arm with the other. She would have to punish herself harshly, but not before she cleaned herself up. Her pale body was painted in blood and dirt, and several cuts were blatantly calling out on her torso. With one last shake of her head, she darted to the nearest dagger, which she recalled was somewhere at the edge of the forest. Pleased with her new location, she began scanning the trees for a place to clean herself up. A dagger would be tossed to a tree above, splitting through the middle of the bulk just above a branch. Before she could take action, however, she heard something. Something familiar. She was not alone.

During all his travels, no matter how far they took him from his home, Sagi never once gave up on his mission to find Izi. Even as he trudged through what had to be just the latest of over a dozen new territories without very many new clues, he felt that he was getting closer. He had to be. Izi couldn't just be gone. They couldn't have just lost her. He refused to believe it. She was as skilled a fighter as he was... Even if she'd been on her own in this place, Sagi knew she would make it.
It was the sound of splitting bark that inevitably drew Sagi from his thoughts. He froze in place, instantly reaching for the handles of his blades and drawing them without so much as a sound. When he was able to discern there were no threats within his line of sight, he began to move to where the sound came from, shutting his eyes so he could focus on the sounds.
Footsteps. Light ones.
Throwing his blade forward, he would teleport to it after a short distance to move without making do much as a sound. This would put him on the other side of the tree, where he suspected to find someone waiting. Only, he was unprepared for just who that someone might be.
Upon arriving at his blade Sagi would tightly grip the handle and point it to the source of the sound, only to immediately find himself at the back of a woman with long, red hair. His eyes widened, and for just a moment, his grip faltered.
"I-Izi?"
