[/b] His words had came after she returned the kiss,, which had broken after a few moments. Sure, they would get busy and work hard to colonize Mercury, but there would be plenty of time in between to spend, he reasoned. "We're gonna have a lot of time on our hands out here." Austin still had doubts of his own, in regards to his ability to maintain a stable relationship, however he could wait till another time to deal with that. Cereza was hurting here and now, so he would try to focus on that. "Maybe you should try to relax a little, huh?" He would give her a little nod, followed by a wink before he finally stepped away and made his way toward the bathroom. It didn't have a bath he could run her, so a hot shower was going to have to do. His hands would lift and sweep his hair back as he disappeared into the bathroom. Cereza would hear the water turn on shortly after. He would turn and look at himself in the half-mirror for a moment. He was still aggitated, with himself and Maverick, however he would let out another deep breath before he made his way back to her. Austin would stop a few feet from her and extend his hand her way, if she took it he would turn and lead her into the bathroom. At which point, he supposed he would let her do her thing. He would step back and lean against the small sink, crossing his arms near his midsection while closing his eyes in the process. Clearly, he was thinking. What he was thinking would remain unknown the the woman nearby. It was hard to keep his mind from jumping from topic to topic. From Cereza, to Maverick, to his own problems and back again. The effects of the alcohol, while still in his system, seemed to have dulled and faded. While he was certainly willing to try with her, this would also bring him unexpected pressure. More to worry about, more to think about. As it is, he was still grasping the idea that they were heading into uncharted territory, out within the ocean of stars. He needed to worry about ensuring he got home to Nathan and now he would worry about Cereza and making sure she could be there for Amara. He supposed he would deal with it all as it came. Shaking the thoughts free from his mind for the time being, Austin would reopen his eyes and fixate them upon wherever Cereza was. [/ul] [/blockquote]

--- He wasn't forcing her into anything if that's what he thought. To say she might've been speaking from the alcohol in her system wouldn't be entirely accurate. That would be saying she didn't mean a word of what she said. Though yes it lent its hand in helping loosen the foundation a bit, her words and feelings were truer than she would've liked to have let on should she had been sober. Sober her probably would've never spoke such things whether she meant it or not, mostly due to her being on a high level of defense. Austin could count himself lucky to have seen any of part of this side of her. At this point he had seen the ugly and the good - but what about the better? That was still waiting to appear, but that could only happen with true change. Could she change? It was possible. Did she need help to? More than likely. Someone to keep her on track. Someone to put her in her place when needed. Someone who saw there was more under her layers than she had let on. Austin seemed like the right fit.
--- Despite having their task ahead of them, it was true they were going to have plenty of time. Every waking moment couldn't possibly be spent on business. Besides where was the fun in that? All business no play? Didn't even seem possible especially with the young set of people that was on board. They broke away from each other with his suggestion that she would try to relax. Cereza made no objections as he walked away towards the bathroom. She looked away, taking a long overdue deep breath as the water started running in the shower. The things she had said in her anger finally clicked a bit and she started to feel that regret. Not necessarily the regret of telling him but how she threw her fury at him. He didn't deserve it. Going forward all he did was try with her. Try to ease her pain. Try to calm her down. Try to show her... something. In his ways he was telling her if not showing her he cared - that she mattered. It was a bit tough to take in cause it was a new experience. Cereza was lost in thought and hadn't immediately realized that Austin returned until she caught a glimpse of his extended hand from her peripherals.
--- She took a moment to look at him before taking his hand, allowing him to lead her to the bathroom. Once inside he released her and positioned himself against the sink - seemingly taking a moment for thought. Silently Cereza stared at the man before her while he remained in his closed eyed trance. Moments ago they had made a promise to watch each others backs. To ensure that they both got back home to his brother; to her niece. For a long time Cereza had been a selfish person - yet the real truth, she wasn't as selfish as she came across especially if it was someone she cared for. But her mind wandered to, what if it came down to it only being possible for one of them to make it. If she was honest with herself *****
--- While the shower ran she stood looking at him much differently than she ever did before. Since her temper exploded she hadn't formed a smile once till now. Finally with softened eyes, her lips formed the lightest smile - it wasn't much but it was something at least. A start was a start. Once his eyes opened he would find her just a bit in front of him with an extended right hand of her own and her grays locked directly on his hazels. Should he take it, she would take the lead - thought stepping backwards - and guide him into the shower with her. Never once did she break eye contact with him even as she closed the door. Once in she would still have his hand as she moved him so his back was in the cascading water, and the arm of the hand she took would be wrapped across her torso as she placed her back against him. Should he continue to allow her, she'd take his other hand and guide it to brush against one of the scars between her thighs and the M etched on her pelvic line. It wasn't meant to upset him but there was something she wanted to say, so she spoke gently to try to keep his calm. She started with the scars then referred to the M.
"He gave me these as a reminder of many things, especially pain was pleasure.. As a symbol of his dominance. This was his claim on me. I was his.. No matter how many showers, I could never wash off the sins."
--- If he allowed her to turn in his arms, she'd place her hands on his chest, catching his eyes again. Then she spoke before of hating when he did it to her she found herself doing it back. If he listened well to her tone and what she said on both counts there was a lot of honesty pouring out of her in the most sincere manner. Though she exuded a confidence about her, she actually wasn't so confident or rather comfortable in her skin. If he ever noticed she wasn't a girl that wore very revealing attire. Never too short, never too tight.
".. I can't make them go away and now you know what they are.. I have to live with them, can you? Cause I've never felt confident with them till now."
--- What she meant was she never stayed unclothed for so long and let alone with someone because of the markings. She didn't look at herself in the mirror long enough. She often ignored them best she could but it was hard to. But for some reason with him for once she felt a bit differently. She lived with them but she hadn't really dealt with them. But now if they were - and that was confirmed - to pursue something together she was curious if he could deal with it. Truthfully if he was able to read between the lines she was partly asking if he could really accept her knowing what he now did. Even though she didn't tell the story in full. She also was acknowledging that she knew he was still angry about what he saw. Angry with Maverick about it all. Maybe she wondered that with that knowledge and the reminders on her skin could he still see her and not just that black stain in her life. So far she had been quite open for someone so closed off. He said he wanted to get to know her right?

[/b] Sure, they would be a reminder for sure, there was no doubt about that. However, the cause was a temporary issue that would be taken care of as soon as they got back to earth. For now though, he knew she was safe. There was no way he could actually get to her out here. "You're still beautiful, the scars don't make a difference to me." As she turned into him, Austin's hands would find the small of her back and grab hold. "I know it's not something you can forget with a snap of a finger, but.. Maybe, I can help you.. If you let me." In a way he felt bad for her, Austin had always displayed his scars with pride, badges of honor meant to show off the things he had persevered through growing up. Cereza's only brought her shame. Now, his were gone and hers.. Well, there were ways to cover or get rid of them however it would come with pain in it's own right. He wasn't going to travel that path anytime soon. Instead after he spoke, he would continue to keep his eyes latched upon hers and flash a little reassuring grin in the process. "You're the one who has to be comfortable with being around me- The dangers that might bring with it. I might have worked at change, but I made a lot of enemies in the past.. Don't have to worry about that right now, but when we get back you never know what might happen." All his life he had conflict, made foes more than he had made friends. There would always be a risk when it came to him, of someone from the past popping up and causing deadly problems. It was only right he warned her. Especially if she could become a target to get at him. [/ul]

--- If he could see pass it then who was she to bring it up anymore right? It took her time to somewhat ignore them, and even longer to accept them in some capacity. Now she was making a choice to truly deal with them. It was her memory it didn't really have to be his. Though showing him the truth kinda already made it something she doubted he would completely forget. Maybe she shouldn't have, but even in her state she didn't know how to tell him. What words to use if there were even right ones. But agreeing to this venture was all part of the point to get away from all of that. To put those thoughts miles behind her - even if it had been some years and the haunting was still there. Technically speaking she was safe now - physically at least - but mentally was a different story. Something Austin might not have fully understood was the demons to slay weren't out there but inside of her. They resided in her very being and she was pretty familiar with them. It was them he would be competing with if he was willing to truly ride things out with her. She wasn't completely herself right now - though again that didn't mean things were false - but once she sobered up it was possible for some things to change. Better or worse who knew. Sober her wouldn't appreciate how she acted. Her defenses would end up reconstructing themselves possibly even thicker than before and that would be problematic. For now it was time to just live in the moment. For these memories would come to play a role someday in the future. This was all possible - she would learn no matter how stubborn she was.
--- He called her beautiful while she stared in his eyes, telling her that her scars didn't matter and for the first time ever there appeared to be some red in her cheeks? Was that a blush? Did Cereza Nova Grey blush?! Naw, couldn't have been. Totally from the steam of the shower. Yeah that's what it was. As for her scars, though those particular ones she hated and weren't proud of in the slightest; there were two others that she did have a little more pride in. A stab wound in the lower right corner of her abdomen just a little after her music notes tattoo, and another stab wound in the meaty area of her left shoulder. They weren't fun but for her they were the price of her freedom and she would've been willing to pay that again. She wouldn't speak yet allowing him to continue as he gave what seemed like a warning to her. If only everyone came with warning labels right? Cereza had very much calmed down from earlier - showers were always so relaxing to her. - but it was his presence that aided as well. The liquor seemed to be swimming back through her system in a more pleasant stream now, helping sooth the raging demons from before. They were quiet now while she focused on him. Austin would find her giving a slight smile as her hands moved from his chest and she wrapped her arms around his neck, her left hand playing with his hair in the water.
"You make it sound like I'm so innocent. You aren't the only one, Blondie."
--- Blondie wasn't necessarily a reference to the color of his hair but more towards a nickname Clint Eastwood's character had in the spaghetti western 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'. It was also kind of a throwback to when Saul called him Jesse (Jesse James) back at the bar in New York. With that though brought Cereza giving Austin her smirk finally. One she hadn't since everything started. There she was. She wasn't gone just a little dormant. In her own little way she was also telling him that she was willing to risk the danger. Keeping her left hand on the back of his neck, she backed up just an inch and with her right she pointed to the two stab wounds.
"These were the prices of my escape. They were from West, the mouthy one from the bar... I might not have taken his life but I took his pretty face."
--- If Austin could recall, West had a good scar over his left eye down his cheek and another slashed across towards his right starting from the bridge of his nose to his right cheek. Cereza would shrug and put her arm back around his neck, allowing herself to drape on him. Lightly she'd push him a little more into the water so she could enjoy it as well. Her gently her lips would press against his imitating the slow and softness from earlier, holding it briefly only to pull away and turn around in his arms once more. Now her back against him again as she tilted her head back onto his shoulder, she spoke softly.
"I think we both could use some relaxing yea?"

[/i] again so soon, though."[/b] There it was, that smart ass poke at what he had seen after he called her beautiful. He couldn't help it. Seemed like a good time to lighten the mood as she would feel his hands begin to slide down, shifting across the outside of hers before turning inward to brush the tips of his fingers scars. He supposed it was to show her they didnt bother him. And of course, he had other intentions as well, she would soon feel his lips press against the side of her neck, kissing briefly before his teeth would graze her soft skin. He would pull her against him again as the water washed over their bodies. It was only now that tingling sense of alcohol in his system started to come back to him. They had both spent enough mental energy on the issues at hand, he was willing to toss those feelings aside for something that felt good. Besides Qustin was sure she would rather get it off her mind than dwell. [/ul] [/blockquote]

--- Oh she had wished she done worst to West, to all of them really. But what was done was done out of desperation not really tactical. A fight or flight instinct. But she was so tired of thinking about it all. Mentally she was spent on the whole issue. At least for the time being she managed to forget what really set the trail ablaze - but that was only going to be momentary so long as the liquor was working and Austin kept her focused. She hadn't caught his grin due to position but his words caused her brows to furrow with disagreement as her lips protested against it.
"The hell are you talking about? You have not made me blush."
--- She would never admit it. He would never ever get her to agree. Sober or not. But what she couldn't disagree with was the tingle he was sending through her body with his touch. Even as his fingers traced the scar on her inner thigh she found herself biting her lip as he teased her neck. The urge was starting to build again and she more than welcomed it. Why shouldn't they enjoy each other more properly at this point? They both deserved a reprieve.
**Fade to the morning**
--- Surprisingly Cereza hadn't just disappeared while he was sleeping, probably mostly due to the amount of alcohol she had consumed and with everything that occurred before she was exhausted enough to stay laid in bed with him. Dressed in one of his shirts she was spooned up with him until she began to stir. The hangover effects started kicking in with her head pounding as she slowly sat up, careful enough to hopefully not disturb him. Holding her head with a little groan, she ran her hand through her hair before peering over her shoulder at him. Right now she was still in that cloud or at least partly - so everything wasn't processed with a sober mind yet. She smirked and scooted herself out of the bed, her first few steps were a bit wobbly but she managed as she found her belongs slipping on her underwear and pants. His shirt was her shirt for now cause she was too lazy to change. Throwing her sneakers in the bag, she picked that up and came back towards a sleeping Austin. Standing over him, she just looked at his sleeping form before brushes some hair away from his face and would take her leave wordlessly.
