Alex would awaken with a start, lungs crying out for air as he was finally capable of breathing his first breath in what must have felt like forever. He lied atop a piece of metal from the hull of the Starsquall, drifting through open waters. His body ached, and he was drenched from head to toe. How he managed to get on top of the metal to save himself might be a mystery. When he was able to gain his bearings and sit up, Alex would see he was heading straight for a village on the water, its people standing at the edge of the pier with torches and looking glasses. Not long after the village was a waterfall, something he likely did not want to come into contact with.

How did he manage to get here, floating on a river...did the ship crash? He felt like crap, taking some deep breaths as he lacked air. One thing was clear, he had to push on and find a way out of this river. No longer would he be weak, that's a goal and a promise he made to himself, to improve and get better. And as much as he disliked the members of the institute, it would be dumb to not search for his friends...er, acquaintances after he got himself out of this mess.
Getting his bearing, he noticed that he had limited time to act.
"Shit," he muttered.
How was he gonna do this, he was weak and he was sure using his hands to row himself to safety was an impossibility, but it was worth a try. Then he remembered the villagers...perhaps they could help, maybe he could signal them to help, see if they were friendly as much as he disliked socializing. Drastic times call for drastic measures, if that's how the saying went. Alex began waving his arms in the air and yelling out to get their attention.
"Um, Hey, I need some help over here!!"

The people did not move, in response to Alex's calls, and he only got closer and closer to the waterfall. They simply stared, watching while their torches illuminated the darkness. One large man, clothed in furs, stood at the end of the pier, gazing directly at Alex, and pointed. Shouting could be heard, but not of a language Alex would understand.

Of course. With an unamused face, he stopped calling for help, they don’t understand. These were aliens and communication would be a truly difficult.
He flicked off the villagers, just straight up showed them the middle finger. Instead of trying to help they just stood there. This meant he’d have to take matters into his own hands, despite his current state. He could worry about resting and getting dried up after he pushed himself to safety.
Taking some deep breaths, Alex got himself ready. He’d have to leave the Starsquall debris get himself all wet again as he swam towards the village.
“YEET!”
And he jumped into the water, gathering his strength to swim towards the village.

Just moments after Alex jumped into the water, he would feel a powerful current begin to pull at his body from every which way. It would violently spin in circles, before he would feel a sensation of being lifted into the air. A powerful stream of water would erupt from main body, defying physics, and carry him harshly to the pier. Slamming him onto the strong, magicked wood of it all, the people would gasp as they laid eyes upon him. Once he recovered, Alex would find himself at the feet of a woman, who stared down at him curiously. "Siina kou?" she asked, her voice soft, as though carried by the waters.

Cue a grunt of pain when he was slammed into the village pier by the water. These people didn't know how to properly help people, but at least he wasn't left stranded in the water to deal with a watery grave...
"Took you guys long enough...,"Alex managed to comment as he looked up and saw the most majestic woman he had ever seen. Despite the whole language barrier, the way she talked was calming to him, his attitude towards the situation changing for the better. As he stood up all wet, all damp, he looked at all the other villagers. Where they going to kill him or take him prisoner for being something new? What were they all worked up about? Might as well be nice and not get into their bad side. Perhaps he could leave the village and find some place to rest in peace the start his search for the rest of the crew.
"...Thanks lady."
Alex sighed, looking at the townsfolk that were there to witness his rescue besides the strangely nice woman, hoping he didn't have to fight anyone. He just wanted to rest.

The woman frowned, as did those around her. Not only were the words the boy was speaking completely foreign to her and them, but her question also went entirely ignored. The water he'd landed with would slowly surround his legs, rising up to his waist and keeping him trapped in an implied cage of sorts. Once again, brow furrowing, she would ask, "Siina kou?"
Around him, he could see there was a group of large, muscular men and women wearing blue robes and wielding primitive, rock-based spears, all pointed in his direction.

This is why its best to avoid alien civilizations, its just more trouble. The movies on earth rarely touched upon these kinds of problems, usually having the aliens somehow talk English. But this was the truth, it wasn't a movie in a cinema...or he hoped.
"Sinaku? What the heck does that mean?!"
The edgy teen tried to shake away from the water that had encased his legs, even trying to pry himself with his hands which would obviously not work, but eventually he gave up on trying to resist. Really what choice did he have? He was weak, the people here don't understand him, his crew mates were probably on their own adventures and due to his attitude, he knew saving the amazing Alex wasn't on their minds.
Alex's unamused glare looked at all the warriors that seemed to be ready to strike, then at the woman who was most likely the chief or leader of the pack.
"Look girl, I like you, but this isn't gonna work."
He didn't care if they couldn't understand. They probably did understand when he questioned whatever that "sinaku" thing means. Alien speak is weird.
