It would be a breath of fresh air - quite literally - that woke Lexington from his unconscious state. As the man awoke, he would find himself soaked, his back upon dirt but the lower half of his body submerged in water. The man's body ached, but more than that, his lungs cried out for air, that he was finally able to breathe.
Before Lexington was a river, with a current so strong it was a wonder he survived it at all. In the middle of the river was an enormous rock that split it into two separate paths, and embedded in that rock was what he could tell was a large piece of the Starsquall's hull. On either side of that river was maybe ten yards of land that stretched out to large mountainous walls, indicative that he may be in a canyon of some sort. To the West, up the river, he would hear the sound of blaring horns followed by indiscernible shouting. The mob seemed to be heading South, as far as he could tell.

Lexington's eyes slowly opened. He tried to sit up but immediately began gasping for air Christ I'm hammered. He thought as his mind began racing. His head darted up and down as he overloaded himself trying to move every muscle in his body, still forgetting to breathe. Deep breaths, cmon black! Take deep breaths!. Lexington inhaled then held it in for a few seconds before letting it out. A wave of relaxation spread across his body. The young man rose up and looked around as he finally made it to his feet. Lexington stretched for a couple moments and made his way towards the river. Once he was close enough he knelt down and began to rinse off his face. "Whatever the hell happened.. Didn't hit me harder than that Reaver mod." He wiped off his forehead before quickly standing up. "Damn" He murmured as he winced in pain before realizing he shouldn't have spoke to soon. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a large piece of metal, possibly from the ship he was on. "We must have messed up huh... Let me see if this still works." A short test run. He waved his hand towards his chest as he beckoned for the hull of the starsquall to levitate towards him. Carefully the young man positioned the hull between himself and the rock. He stepped onto the hull and then onto the rock before rotating the metal from behind him, to the front of him so that he could cross onto the other side of the river.
The moment his foot touched land, Lexington heard blaring horns and shouting. Lexington had one thought. "Carnivores..." Lexington turned around to look at the metal that still hovered before him. "Time to go lowkey" Lexington placed the metal hull on the ground on his side of the river, he powerwalked over towards the canyons edge. Placing both hands shoulder width apart on the wall and using his powers, the earth swallowed Lexington's hand's like mitts and he began to scale up the side of the wall like spider-man. Once he was roughly 30 feet above ground he would relax, turn around and try to survey the area from a better point.

Lexington would find his gift did, in fact, still work, and he was able to manipulate that metal with little difficulty. He could scale up the wall easily, as well, moving fluidly despite his injuries. So high up, now, he could see a forest above the canyon, with flares being shot up and over the treeline. They were still, indeed, heading south, but a small platoon, roughly five or sex men, in dark apparel, broke off and made their way toward the canyon. From how far and high he was, he had enough distance to not be noticed - but he could also not tell what they wore or wielded as weapons.

Lexington found it fortunate that he awarded himself a moment's rest. Having the chance to look around and absorb his surrounding gave him a chance to establish an objective. Off in the distance Lexington could see a forest, bright lights shot from out of the forest occasionally. "Are..Are those flares?" Immediately, Lexington assumed that those flares meant distress. "I would like to think that's my company that is sending those, but..." He brushed off the thought as he realized everyone else must be scattered also, unless he was the one unlucky guy to get seperated. "I hope everyone is alive at least."
A separate group of people had emerged and they were making their way towards the canyon. "Here's my chance, wait for these bitches to get close and then its lights out." The young man began to move towards the group of men. Regardless of what they wore Lexington had a fight in mind. "Stalk'em then ambush'em. Use the environment against them." Lexington said to himself as he had planned to use the canyon against his perceived enemies.

Lexington would have no way of knowing just who set off the flares, nor what they might mean. The only thing he could tell was that the people coming his way were likely not friendly. When they got closer, he could more adequately identify the armor they wore, as well as make out the figure at the head of the group, leading it. Before long, they would pass directly underneath Lexington, without having noticed him. They fanned out at the leader's order, inspecting the area and any debris that fell from the crash.

"Wow, some serious protection..." Lexington said as he slipped his left hand out of the rock wall he was attached to. He made a squeeze motion with his hand. His powers would allow him to break apart chunks from off of the canyon wall and cause them to fall. Lexington used his gift to alter the path of the falling rocks and cause some of the larger chunks to strike two of the unsuspecting enemies. Lexington's intention wasn't to kill everyone there, but at least knock them out or subdue them.
"That guy right there... Thats the one I want." Lexington said as he took his right hand out of the rock wall, he made a hard pulling motion towards himself as he tried to manipulate the starsquall hull and send it hurdling towards the leader of the group. His plan was to conduct an assault from above in order to preserve his stamina. After all, information is what he really needed at the moment and he felt that these guys had it. "How do I get myself in these situations?" He said to himself.

The hull would move as Lexington wished, though it would not do so successfully. The figure turned as they heard the air around them shift, and shot his palm out to strike at it. The force was great enough to tear the piece of the hull in half with that single blow.
"Drana'c uha rana! Vyh uid!" the person shouted, and their troops would move. They looked around - no one on the same level as them, that they could see. So... above. Looking upward, the leader's eyes would narrow as they focused on Lexington. "Rana!" With one great leap, they hurled themselves into the sky and brought a powerful, gravity-defying left roundhouse for Lexington's head.

"Ohohoh, I think I got too cocky." Lexington said as he watched the guy delegating the operation split the metal hull in half. In immediate retaliation, Lexington clapped both of his hands forcing the two metal halves to close in on the nearest peon in an attempt to sandwich him, capitalizing on the confusion to try and knock one out. Next, he began to slide his feet backwards as the earth constantly reformed around his feet allowing him to basically skate up the canyon wall in reverse.
The group launched then themselves with an alarming amount of leg strength. "Whoaa!!!" The young man yelled as he raised his left hand with his palm facing upwards as if he were picking up a large boulder. In front of him a large boulder actually would break away from the canyon wall and levitate over a crater it created. Using his right hand he jabbed forward with his power to push the boulder forward. Lexington clapped his hands in order to cause the boulder to shatter into one hundred fists, all the size of Lexington's hands. A full salvo of rock fists would litter the sky and rain down on Lexington's enemies. "No way, I miss with that one! Lets get it, boys!! Hahaa" Lexington hollered, he was beginning to get a feel for that fighter's rush after having taken a dirt nap. He crouched down and shot the earth underneath his feet forward in an effort to power-jump from one side of the canyon clean over the other wall towards the forest. "Gotta find that flare spot, I'm rollin the dice here" Lexington said to himself as he looked over his shoulder and soared through the sky, he then looked down.
He realized as he was quickly descending that he needed to land "Shit, shit!" He yelled as he brought his feet underneath him and he began crunching his fingers at the ground. The earth underneath him began to soften as he turned the hard ground into a soft sand, Lexington used his hands to guide the sand into forming a soft hill for him to break his fall with. "Awwwh man, rough idea. That's gotta buff out. He slowly stood up, eyes still fixed on the canyon opening.

The armored soldiers would be bludgeoned by the barrage of stone fists, but the leader remained unfazed. They sent their own fists out, crashing into the stone with force to shatter it all, still bringing themselves up into the air with force that could not be met. As Lexington attempted to jump clear across the canyon from the stone, he would find a surprise waiting for him for his eagerness.
Lexington would be able to kick off the wall, but as he did, he would find a hand wrap around his ankle as the leader gripped his leg tightly. With a sudden weight being applied to his body, they would drop like an anchor, and the figure would slam Lexington's body into the dirt, face first.
"Suhcdan!" she shouted out, her voice more apparently feminine from this close proximity.

[/url]* Austin grinned when the woman began to move and nodded toward was Axel, trusting that he could carry onward without help. Once they eventually reached the cliff that over looked the canyon, his hazel hues caught sight of the scene below. It didn't take him long to recognize one of his best friends, someone he knew and trusted for sure. Lexington Steel. Austin wasn't at all surprised that he survived the landing. However, the situation didn't look good at all. Halani bolted before he had a chance to say anything to her. Gritting his teeth, he would call out to Axel as he dashed forward. "I don't care what happens, don't kill anyone! It'll only make things worse!" He would try to stay within earshot of Halani as she ran ahead of him. "Halani! FRIEND!"Hopefully she had caught enough of a hint about that word from that last communication. Regardless, he couldn't just watch them beat his friend down. Once he got close enough that he was confident he could reach, he would use those mighty legs and heaved himself from the side of the canyon. As he jump his left hand would press the button on the frame of the helmet and the full helmet would form. Austin would aim to land an extended and downward angled super-man punch as he dropped from the leap. "Lex! I got you!" His goal was to separate and fling the one holding Lexington away as Austin landed hard in a crouched position. "Dunno what happened, bud- But we gotta try to figure out some sort of peaceful resolution or we're gonna regret this shit later."[/ul] [/blockquote]

Lexington's hundred fist barrage would prove to be successful in slowing down the peons, but it didn't work anywhere near as well on their leader. Eyes focused on the other side of the canyon in order to anticipate his landing, Lexington was unaware that the leader was just as crafty as he was. What felt like soaring through the air immediately came to a halt. He felt a small hand grasp his left shin as dead weight was immediately applied. "No, no, NO!!" Lexington hollered as he came spiraling down towards the ground. His left cheek made contact with the ground and it was not pretty. He took a hard fall as the wind was knocked out of him, he rolled once and his heavy body formed a life size crater in the ground. "still.." He wheezed. "got some fight in me" Being this close, Lexington realized the leader was in fact a woman and not a male. More important was the fact that while laying on his back, Lexington could see past his enemy.
The most unexpected sight at a time like this, Austin Huntsman had showed up and with company too. "simply beautiful.." Lexington uttered with a half smile before he struck the ground with his left fist. The earth underneath the female leader would encase her feet like boots, immobilizing her until she would most likely break free. Lexington created a long earth hammer and swung it using the same left hand from his lying down position in an effort to hit the woman square in the head. If he made contact that would be a plus and he was hoping she would be seeing stars, but given his recent luck, Lexington wanted the immobilization to buy his teammate some time to land a solid strike.
If all went well, Lexington slowly stood up next to his companion and gave his side of the story. "Yeeaaah this is totally my fault. You know, got cocky, thought I could beat their asses. Now I've got dirt in my mouth.." Lexington said as he grimaced and rubbed his jaw. "Bro, you seriously don't know how glad I am to see you"

The stone trapped the woman's feet only momentarily. As Lexington fell and formed his hammer of stone, she rose a forearm to protect her head. The stone collided with her skin, shattering and bringing force that only caused her to recoil slightly. Just a moment later, she would drop to a knee, breaking the earth shackling her feet, and send a fist flying straight toward Lexington's face.
"Minaako! Hu suna!" Halani shouted, jumping and tackling the other woman before she could strike Lexington - and perhaps for the better. Her fist would strike the ground near his head instead, leaving a massive, deeper crater beside him. She glared up at Halani, brow furrowing. "Fryd yna oui tuehk?! Ra rind so sah!" the first woman, Minaako, growled.
"Ra ghufc hu paddan. Drec syh femm aqbmyeh du res, yht E femm aqbmyeh du oui," Halani replied, before turning to Austin. "Austin... Bmayca," she pointed to Lexington. Minaako was helped to her feet, and Halani did her best to explain the situation, attempting to bring hostilities to a minimum.

[/b] After he spoke, his other hand would lift to press the button beneath the frame of his helmet and allow the visor and top part to fold away again. "We gotta play this carefully.. We don't know a damn thing about this place- It's people.. Halani"He would gesture over his shoulder to the woman that had arrived with him. "She had a chance to kill me or try anyways, she didn't take it. I also could have done the same.. I didn't think it was the right way to go about it. They speak a different language, but we still figured out a way to work around the barrier." Shifting again, he would position himself at Lex's side, before motioning for Axel to join them with a sweep of his arm. "Until we figure out how many others survived, where they are.. We need to play this cool, alright? For now at least, we have to try and trust and work with them." He supposed there was an element of risk with this strategy, but at this point he believed it would be worse to show only aggression. At one point in his life he would have chosen conflict right away, as Lexington had. Not right now, though. There were too many unknowns. [/ul] [/blockquote]

Lexington's hammer barely did a thing to his enemy. Fortunately for him, Austin's friend had prevented the woman from totally destroying his head. He looked at the crater that should have been his head. "What the..." He was in disbelief at the amount of force behind that woman's punch. Tensions had subsided temporarily and Lexington watched as the two foreigners spoke to each other in their native language. "I-I don't know what the hell they're saying man." He said as he scratched the back of his head.
That was when Austin slapped Lex on the back and then said the name 'Halani' "Halani? Is that the chick you rode in with?" Lexington eyed her up and down. "Judging by the crater laying next to where I just got laid out. I have a feeling that this Halani lady and the search party that I found.. are probably familiar with each other." Lexington felt that with such a language barrier, the foreigners would be at just as much a disadvantage as they were by using their native language. "Earlier I managed to scale the side of this canyon wall. Topside there is a forest and I spotted a bunch of flares that were fired into the air.." Lexington turned towards Austin. "I figure that with the two of us together, we work our persuasive magic and we try to get these folks to follow us toward those flares so we can investigate. That's the best plan I've got right now. My previous plan however... as you can see ended in disaster." Lexington shrugged his shoulders as he was genuinely at a loss for what to do. "If you and I survived the crash, then I have no doubt some of the others HAVE to be alive.

The fifth wheel walked up just after Austin, hand still on the gun in his holster. Lexington might recognize him as an engineer on the Starsquall, all banged up and bruised. "We can't take too many chances," the guy said, pointing at the crater the girl formed from just her fist. "Imagine more of 'em are like that. Those flares, I know they were from her army. If they're all just as hostile, we're fucked. I say we wring these two out for answers," he nodded again, looking between Austin and Lexington. It sounded cruel, but to him, it was the only thing that made sense.
Halani and Minaako stepped forward after a short discussion, and the latter woman placed one fist in her palm and bowed her head. "So ybumukeac," she said, then her form became loose once again. The look on her face implied that possible apology was forced out of her by Halani, but she didn't press the matter one way or another.
"Austin," Halani spoke up. "Stahskwal," she continued, butchering the pronunciation. Pointing to Austin, Lexington, and then the Engineer, she counted, "Uha. Dfu. Drnaa," holding up one, two, and three fingers on her other hand, respectively, in the hopes that he might catch on to what she was getting at. "Ruf syho?" She shrugged, then, pointing at her fingers with a quizzical look. She wanted to know how many more there were.
