★ Eamon "Mephisto" Vasilios ★
Played by:
Faceclaim: Dabi, My Hero Academia
Age: 26 ()
Gender: Male
Weight and Height: 160 lbs, 6' 0"
Appearance:
Occupation: Former Mortician
Personality:
Strange is likely the easiest way to to label Eamon. He is not overly talkative and when he does choose to speak what he says might not always make sense to those around him. Sometimes he might not even be talking to the person in front of him. He is the type of person that follows his own path and doesn't generally allow others deter him from following it. He speaks his mind and does so usually from a neutral position.
While he isn't innately evil or good, there are many facets of his personality that lean him toward the darker side of things. Any sense of a moral compass he might have had at one point in his long time had long since been broken and shattered to the point of no repair. He rarely shows any sort of empathy toward others and has a severe hatred for those that toy with life and death. He is not at all a fan of those that heal and help prevent death when death is the destined outcome.
He certainly has quirks about him that will make it difficult for most people to really enjoy being around him. While he generally isn't aggressive nor does he display anger often, there are certain things that trigger him, however it usually depends upon the subject matter. He certainly isn't the most socially adept person, nor does it seem at all like that bothers him, for he is never truly alone even when alone in the physical realm.
Background:
Eamon came from a long line of 'gifted' individuals tasked with watching the 'gateways between life and death'. Due to a ritual long ago, forced upon him by his family, Eamon has existed for years beyond what any normal human being has, but it came with a cost unlike any other. Servitude to death and wherever the Nether creeps.
It lead Eamon down many paths, filled with only the darkest shades of grey.
Skills and Weaknesses:
- Due to his connection with the Nether, Eamon has the ability to communicate with the spirits of the dead on earth and beyond. It has also given him much insight into the darker arts the Nether touches, such as Necromacy and reanimation of the dead. Because his family has long held the mantle of Doormen for Hades, he is able to travel into the Asphodel Meadows within his mind to guide spirits. On very rare occasions he might be able to prevent the passing of a soul into the underworld.
- Due to his soul being bound to an object, Eamon cannot be killed unless that object itself is destroyed, only then can he can be permanently killed. His vessel can be destroyed and he must have one to replace it before he can return to the physical realm.
- Eamon's mind is sharp and he has a photographic memory, which allows him to recall most things that he has seen and experienced with ease.
- Due to the nature of the vessels Eamon uses, they are as frail as your average human body. They will only withstand so much damage before they break down and deteriorate into dust.
- Within his head, he exists between the physical world and his connection to the underworld and the Nether itself. He will occasional have bouts of catatonic behavior in the physical world when his mind slips to the 'otherside', which can bring him to inaction be it in conversations or in the midst of a fight.
- Eamon does not understand morals at all. He Doesn't really grasp the concept of good or evil and so he isn't restrained by what other people seem right or wrong. This can often put him at odds with other people, especially when it comes to life and death. Eamon has no qualms against killing anyone, whether it is for better or worse.
Gifts:
Primary:
Chthonian Element
User can create, shape and manipulate Nether, the "Chthonian Element" that flows through the realms of the living, and the Dead. Nether is most known as the substance that makes up the Underworld, a subterranean dimension where all souls go when they pass on. Nether is very similar to Aether “the Celestial Element” in that it is from a Plane that exists between the planes of both matter, and energy. However, although it can partake in the nature of either substances, Nether is neither of these things.
Despite being often considered "Death-Force" Nether is more than the source of what drains life away from living things, it is the destructive aspect of reality, the source and very concept of entropy and destruction, disasters and all degeneration in matter, energy and concepts. It is the power that makes possible and ensures severing the soul's connection to their mortal body, so they can pass onto the after life. It is also the power that summons and controls the souls of the deceased. Users of this power acknowledge that Nether exists in Elemental, Cosmic, and Spiritual forces. Nether exists in the cosmos as sort of a gateway between the land of the Living and the Dead, stretching out to anywhere where death has potential to occur.
[Level One]
Eamon calls upon the Nether and pulls forth malevolent energy, which can be focused with any part of his body. When he makes contact with matter, be it organic or non-organic, Eamon has the ability to harness necrotic energy that degenerates upon touch. Depending on the durability and type of material of the object touched, the time it takes for something to turn to ash is varied. Materials like paper, plastic or wood could potentially wither within moments, while metal would take longer and the most durable materials would require much longer periods of touch.
When touching another human, that human would feel a burning sensation, less like fire and more like the deepest of cold settling in as their body begins to slowly wither itself. Should they find themselves in a position that would allow Eamon to maintain contact for a long period of time, it is entirely possible they could lose a limb or worse, depending on the location.
Secondary:
Self-Puppetry
Users of this power transfer their souls within an object to make combat and survivability much easier due to the separation of body and soul. Despite the fact that the user's soul is separated from their body, they will still think and move like normal. With this power, the user's body is nothing more than a puppet that is controlled by their soul.
