Tall and lanky, Jace has an air of superiority to him, even when he isn't superior to most. Genetically altered and adapted to be a specimen above the typical human threshold, Jace's physical form is filled out with tone muscle from the tests put on his body to see how it adapted to the nanites, though his skin outside of his left arm is extremely pale. After being genetically altered, his once brown hair turned raven black hair and he now has cold icy blue eyes.
His left arm, when exposed and revealed entirely, is a pitch black limb with a network of straight blue lines that intersect and create pathways for his Gift to manifest outside of his body. While his gift is active, the blue lines light up and pulse an unnatural neon blue color that is often covered by the black colored nanites that it emits, creating a layer of biomechanical defense over his arm.
Typically seen wearing long sleeved attire and gloves, Jace prefers to dress fashionable while also practical. While he can often be seen wearing a large overcoat that hands just above his ankles, he prefers to wear multiple layers to keep his arm contained and out of view, fearing the thought of having it torn off or being revealed as a his weapon and tool. Outside of long coats, he can typically be seen in normal long sleeved shirts and black jeans, often not wearing any shoes.

Being genetically modified has turned his former loser into someone who is above average in intelligence, though he always acts like he knows what he is doing. Often seen as cold and calculating, Jace's neutral expression is the one he almost always wears, though he has been known to find certain jokes and situations hilarious, to the point of being obnoxious. Regarded as a NEET, Jace can come across was lazy and often considers himself above menial tasks like studying due to his nanites.
Background
Born in the United States of America, Jace was a troubled kid with no aspirations growing up, relying solely on technology to keep his attention and fund his obsession with getting into things he normally shouldn't have. At the age of 12, he discovered the darkest reaches of the available and internet and was fascinated by the grotesque and otherwise unavailable things and joined chat rooms in search of even deeper ways to reach further into the web. After years of searching and gathering friends, his online friends taught him how to utilize computer programming to create miniature viruses into files, providing him control over others - something he greatly indulged in as he had dropped out of school two years prior after repeatedly skipping school to sit on the computer.
Eventually discovering how to access the dark web, Jace delved a bit too deep and eventually stumbled upon information pertaining to the creation of artificial Gifts, utilizing technology and medicine as a means to advance an individuals genetics. Falling deeper and deeper into the trap that would cost him dearly, Jace wrote down notes and gathered the medicinal requirements listed, eventually realizing most were steroids meant to strengthen the body against the side effects of the experiment.
On one unfortunate day, Jace disappeared off the face of the planet - figuratively - as he had been unknowing tracked down by the scientists performing the tests on humans. After being marked as Subject 20 on his hand, he was forced to endure the procedure that would alter him entirely and shape his future. While others survived the procedure, many displayed mutations that were deemed unnatural and as they started to experiment with technology, utilizing biomechanical organisms called nanites, Jace was the only one to fully recover within the second batch. As the nanites altered his body, relying on the steroids flowing through his body to offset any mutations that formed, outside of his arm becoming biomechanical in nature, Jace fully recovered from the procedure but at the cost of some of his humanity.
Put to vigorous tests to display how advanced the formerly malnourished teenager developed due to the experiment, Jace could rely on his nanites to assist in day-to-day situations, creating objects out of them to assist him in the tests. In his spare time, he utilized his nanites to tap into eletronics to understand how they worked at a basic level, allowing communication between the nanites and Jace him. Eventually being labelled as a success, Jace was provided with a simple task; escape.
At the age of 20, Jace has witnessed the advancement of the treatments provided to the Synthetic Gifted and slowly realized like technology he was becoming obsolete. As the task was repeated each night before he slept in his head, Jace unknowingly was utilizing his nanites to record information on the layout of the facility he was kept in, eventually discovering that they were also keeping information on shift swaps between guards. Utilizing this knowledge, he started a fight among the 'inmates' by utilizing his nanites to override their synthetic Gifts and to cause them to momentarily freak out as he overloaded their minds. Utilizing the frantic and paranoid 'inmates' as decoys, Jace escaped from his confinements only to discover that it was a test to see how far Jace could go to do what was needed, meeting the overseer and being addressed by his real name for the first time in 4 years.
Realizing how long he had been locked up and kept under watch by the man, Jace's mind finally broke as he realized the mistakes he made. Becoming obedient and less aggressive, the overseer assigned him with the task of melding in with the true Gifted to discover if his synthetic Gift could grow and replicate theirs. Being provided a broken porcelain mask to cover his identity after being let out of the facility, Jace was provided with documents on how his Gift came to be, in addition to doctored information on his past life that were slightly made up and uploaded into the data files of the government.
After three years trying to understand the Gifted, he was forced to join the Starbound Initiative as it was necessary for all Gifted to be locked within their walls for the safety of others, as well as their own safety. Unfortunately for Jace, he has yet to realize how much of a pawn he is to the Gift he now has flowing through his body, learning everything he does and more.

Primary: Hello, World!1st Lvl: Infused with nanites, Jace has the ability to summon a swarm of nanites to be utilized as a medium-to-close ranged weapon that regenerates overtime when damaged. He is capable of utilizing this swarm to consume unprotected flesh to repopulate the nanites lost during attacks.
Secondary: DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service)
1st Lvl: Utilizing his nanites to hack into objects, Jace can interface directly with technology and some synthetic organisms that have low security. Once interfaced, Jace can utilize his nanites to overload systems to disrupt and tap into a technological device to gather information over time, providing him a boost to his Perception by 1 rank if he is successful.
