Appearance
Chatan is typically regarded as tall and handsome, typically seen with a roguish appearance due to the fact he lived outside of large cities and communities for most of his life. Often having his hair medium length and shaggy, in addition to sporting a carefully trimmed and maintained goatee. His hair is a dark brown while his eyes are a light brown, complementing his tanned complexion. Many mistake him for someone who is older than twenty-two, though he sometimes uses his older looking appearance to his advantage.
Dressed in loose fitting clothes, along with a few fancy pieces of clothing, Chatan has adopted the idea that fancy clothes are an easy way to impress people - though he knows once his gift activates, they will be in shreds. Sporting a dress shirt almost always, he prefers the ability to immediately remove it before transforming to save on the cost of clothing.
Once his gift activates, his body becomes twisted and corrupted by the curse that flows through his body. Sprouting antlers and a skull mask from his skin, his body releases a miasma of dark energy that masks the grotesque transformation, while dispersing to reveal a creature that many believe to be only in the folklore. Monstrous in appearance and build, Chatan's wendigo form is massive and it is lightly armored with bone-like plating across it's chest that provides almost zero protection currently.

Occupation
Cadet
Personality
Charismatic: Chatan is a charmer, naturally, though he tends to be more interested in himself than most other individuals. He is very flowery when it comes to addressing people, calling them by petnames based on their appearance or personality. Generously called a flirt, he has a tendency to focus on others than himself - though for obvious reasons.
Obnoxious: Due to his inability to read emotions well, Chatan is sometimes regarded as an asshole. His social queues also aren't the best, and he presumes that people already know he is is better than them in some form or another.
Aggressive: When transformed and afterwards, Chatan is left in a state of aggression where he tends to lash out at anyone that comes near him. Even when he is not in his form, he is typically aggressive in combat and often times prefers to put an end to a fight as soon as possible - mostly due to the fact he doesn't want to transform.

Background
Chatan was born in Ontario, Canada to a small community on the outskirts of advanced society. While his family is Algonquin, they were exiled long before Chatan was born due to to the curse that flows through their veins - mostly thanks to their ancestors. Living a nomadic life, his family had livestock they kept to sustain themselves, as well as the training of how to track and hunt animals with simplistic weapons.
Chatan, during his early years, did not understand the tales his family warned him of, educating him on the folklore of the wendigo almost daily up until he was awoken one night by the screams of his cousins and he witnessed the horrors of the wendigo first hand. Witnessing the creature devour their livestock and kill his uncle, Chatan was left in a state of complete shock and wanted to avenge his uncle, though as soon as the creature was done it's rampage, it's form receded back to what appeared to be his grandfather.
Traumatized by this experience and believing it to be a dream, the boy was eventually confronted with his own transformation after injuring himself and partaking in his own blood. While the transformation did not complete entirely, he finally felt the empowering sensation of it - and the lust for more that soon came afterwards. Sneaking out at night to explore his powers further, he eventually was found by his cousin who had followed the boy from their home, though the disappearance of the boy shook the small family community.
No one ever did find out that it was Chatan who had killed his cousin, but many had believed it to be one of their own - causing paranoia and distrust among the community. As more and more deaths started to come up, and their livestock continued to be thinned, parts of the community broke off to embrace the more civilized world.
Eventually coming to terms that they couldn't continue to survive on the outskirts of society, Chatan's family eventually took to society with full force, bringing their kids into the school systems and indulging into more modern day activities. During this time Chatan was only 8 years old, and quickly realized how different his world was from those he met. Even though he learned quickly how inept he was with technology, he also learned that he had other skills children did not understand, as well as the fact he was capable of
Reaching high school due to the school system pushing him along, Chatan soon embraced the life of a teenager and actively sought ways to adapt to their lifestyle - working extra hard at his family's restaurant for cash, and taking cash from victims he accidentally killed during his transformations. Dressing in the finest clothes and carrying himself with an air of power, he was quickly popular with the girls at his high school due to his looks and the fact he looked like he was from a rich family.
Realizing the emphasis on developing physique, Chatan embraced more physical activities and joined the football team of his high school. While he wasn't the largest in terms of height, his strength was almost inhuman and his eye for detail in the opposing teams defense allowed his school's team to win a handful of matches alone. Many of the cheerleaders soon realized he had a chance at making it big, and he took the chance to find out how far he could push his gift by feasting on the hearts - and bodies.
Though as fate would have it, he couldn't hide his curse forever and soon his school was under investigation after the disappearance of two cheerleaders, and he was being investigated due to his 'relationships' with them. Playing it off as if he was being wrongfully accused, he got away with it and he loved the fact they believed him, the fact he was the victim. Continuing to play football and having to deal with the fact he had to not indulge in his gift, he was able to bring the attention away from him.
At the age of 18, soon to be graduating from high school, he finally let himself indulge once more into his gift. While he used it to hunt animals at night, he refused to use it against humans again in case he got caught - until he was forced to ingest his own blood during a football game.
The havoc he unleashed afterwards was reported across Canada, and with his immediate disappearance afterwards he was hunted down by the police. Escaping to his old home, he fell back to utilizing the skills his grandfather and father had taught him, surviving off the land. For 4 years he dealt with the guilt of his actions and the animistic urges that clawed at him - soon creating the excuse that his first experience had created the man he was. Utilizing what he could with minimal supplies and the compound bow he had stolen from a nearby camp site, Chatan survived off the land.
Being found by his family after they gave into the pleas of the people, Chatan felt the urges of the creature within but refused to continue to fight. Chatan refused to embrace his gift to fight his own flesh and blood, as well as understanding finally that he had become the thing his elders had warned him about - he surrendered willingly to the law enforcement officers.
After being interrogated for months on why he had partook in such things, he was finally released and forced to go to the Institute - as per mandatory enrollment. With a new lease on life, and an understanding that his gift can be used for good and evil - he plans on taking the opportunity to discover who he truly is.

Gift
Primary
Curse of the Wendigo
Cursed at birth, Chatan's entire family has dealt with being outsiders due to the past crimes against nature and life done by his ancestors. When Chatan tastes blood, even his own, he is forced to embrace a cruel metamorphosis, causing his body to shed it's normal flesh and change into a monstrous creature with a skull mask forming over his face and antlers sprouting from the sides of his head, eventually forming into a skull with horns that protrude from where his ears would normally be, as well as bone-like armor appearing on his chest that does nothing in it's current form. While in this form his mind becomes blurred by the instinct to feed and kill, lowering his Perception by 1, but due to it's more bestial nature it provides him with an unnatural form of strength, increasing his Strength and Agility by 1.
After being injured to a certain extent, the form is immediately cancelled and he is returned to his basic form - though when coming out of the form he is significantly more injured than how he was in his Wendigo form.
Secondary
Hawk's Perception
Due to Chatan being raised to hunt, his vision is almost secondary to his physical strength and agility. While outside of his Wendigo form, he is capable of focusing on a situation to increase his Perception by 1 for two rounds. He is incapable of utilizing this gift in it's current state if he is too injured or exhausted.Statistics
