Background: Shiloh's parents remain unknown, even to him. He went from foster home to foster home growing up until he was eventually adopted by an upper-class family and he lived a genuinely happy life. However, there was a day when tragedy has stricken the family when his parent's had been killed when criminal's struck their home. He can still remember his attackers vividly and he will never forget a pair of eyes. Scarlet eyes and the howling winds when his parents were killed. A group of wanted criminals ravaged his hometown and destroyed it, during which Shiloh's powers over the earth manifested in an attempt to save his life.

Eventually, he was alone again. Bruised, beaten, dying, lying in a pool of his blood surrounded by rubies. He was dying, and he knew that and just when he had given up hope he was discovered by a young man, Macht who worked for the Institute. He came willingly, he was cared for and nursed back to health, and ultimately, Shiloh made the decision to join the Institute both for the sake of conviction, revenge and he felt he owed the Macht a debt he could never repay by saving his life.
