Appearance
Unlike her younger, as she refers to "rough around the edges sister", Verity is a rather prim and proper looking woman with no discernible visible scars at first glance. Those that she does have are carefully hidden with clothes and/or makeup in efforts to perfect a public appearance. These clothes are typically high-end and fashionable, including dresses that fit her curvaceous and carefully maintained athletic body - which are accentuated by her healthy head of purple hair that reaches well down to her waist.
Since arriving at the Institute, Verity has also been known to wear a form fitting set of combat clothing specifically created for her made with her extensive family funding. Aside from this, she's been known to collect a wide array of weapons that she uses both in combat and as decor for her dormitory and private office located somewhere in Melbourne.

Occupation: Heiress/Cadet
Personality: Verity is a pragmatic woman- groomed from birth to be her father's successor, she was left with very little time for anything that wasn't part of the facts, figures, plans or procedures for Avarice. Initial introductions present an attractive, vivacious young woman who genuinely cares about the people around her.
She appears to have an optimistic outlook on life- having outstanding social skills and a great sense of humor that enable her to fit in almost anywhere she goes. Both energetic and driven, Verity doesn't have much of a problem making friends with other people as long as their relationship remains largely superficial and they don't pry into her personal life. People who value traditions and loyalty will find it easy to get along with her, as long as they remain on her good side.
Behind this professional facade shes adapted to is a manipulative, cunning and wicked woman who is willing to do almost anything to get ahead in the real world- just as she was taught to act by her father. The least circuitous route is often the one she'll take, even if that means trampling over the feelings of other people. She desires to get things done, meaning she often ignores such frivolities.
The few people that have gotten close to her have all described her the same way- Sadistic. It isn't much of a stretch to call her as such, either. Having once stabbed and left her sister for dead (among other attempts), Verity has surmounted an incredible amount of skeletons in her closet over the years. She enjoys running things and feels like she has no time to waste as she climbs to the top, favoring the most practical and realistic of her options even if they're morally objectionable.
Background
Verity has lived her entire life abiding by her father's words: Rise above the rest and become the best. Oldest of the six Perish children, life was always a battleground bother figuratively and literally. Unlike most families, hers was one fraught with deceit and danger; as her father, Lathan, constantly pushed them to become better then they were. To adhere to the families values and grow to be fitting heirs for when he inevitably passes on the torch, and Verity was perhaps the one with the most 'loyalty' to him. Blindly obeying his each and every word, vying with her siblings in order to feel like she was loved and doing the right thing, this caused her to become at odds with one particular sibling over the rest as time went by.
Naturally, she partook in the family business like the rest. Crime was nothing strange to her from a very young age, and she grew up without much in the way of morals. She was amoral, and her value only reached as far as she could please her father - everything else was irrelevant, and she didn't hesitate to abandon the rest of her family when she truly believed that they were disloyal, disobedient or even traitors. The main target of her abuse was a young Vivi Perish- her younger sister who she grew up to resent and hate in a great many ways for a variety of reasons. Even going as far as making attempts on her sisters life, Verity eventually lost touch with the 'problem child' when Vivi managed to shake the family after completing something referred to by her father as "The Stairs of Redemption".
Unsatisfied with his decision but unable to speak against him, Verity had accepted the fact that the target of her abuse had escaped. Her focus eventually returned to the family business and Avarice itself, where she became even more sadistic and domineering over the business as the years went by. Frustrated by the disappearance of the one who stole her spot light so many times, simply to up and abandon her and their family, her anger was easily redirected to other members of the family and the victims of their crimes. Both older and wiser, she began to suffer from the insecurities that had festered due to her upbringing and family discourse- starting to doubt that Lathan truly cared for her, but choosing to compete for his 'love' none the less; pushing the doubt into the corner of her mind as simple paranoia.
Fully understanding the situation involved with "The Starbound Initiative" and the mandatory enrollment of gifted individuals from around the world, Verity and Lathan both saw it as a good opportunity to gather intelligence and sink their claws into whatever it was that was happening in Australia. Chances were pretty good that her missing younger sister was there, too- and Verity simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to have a little family reunion after so much time - so Verity volunteered and willingly went to the program.

Gifts
Primary Gift
Quantity Manipulation (Level 1): A gift thought to be born from her strong desire to rise to the top among her brothers and sisters, Verity was found to have the unique gift of manipulating the 'quantity' of objects. At base level, this allows her the powers of 'Addition', 'Subtraction', 'Multiplication' and 'Division'. Adding quantity to objects makes them bigger, while subtracting makes them smaller. Multiplication affects the amount of objects that exist, while Division separates them into smaller forms of themselves. The latter two forms of her power appear to create copies of the original object, and none of the powers can be used to affect humans or other living, breathing animals.
*Multiplication and Division cannot create infinite objects, and addition and subtraction cannot infinitely expand or shrink. The amount/size must be kept reasonable in consideration to the highest level of Quantity Manipulation. At level one, Verity is able to manipulate these operations with the numbers up to "three", requiring concentration when manipulating quantities at the highest number she's capable of.
