Background: Bianca was the second of three children born to the Lucani family. Nero was her older brother, and Umbra was her younger sister. The three of them only ever had each other, despite their parents being around most of their lives. Their parents hated them, and constantly berated them and kept them sheltered. All three children were born with white hair and red eyes, and their parents were ashamed of their kids. They all grew up together in their seclusion, and came to rely on one another. The kids would play pretend of living in a better life, and all adopted names. Nero became "Kaiser", the king. Bianca was "Reine", the queen. And for Umbra, the two of them affectionately called her "Lumiere", for she was their light in the dark world they lived in.
The years passed and things didn't change. One day, Lumiere was caught reading a book by her parents, and they took her out back and began to beat her. Kaiser and Reine tried to help her, but they were soon beat too. From this point on, cruel words became torture instead. The children were seen as defiant, and were chained down in the basement. The parents often came downstairs to "discipline" them, beating them and cutting them and watching them bleed, spouting cruel words and calling them "scum" or "worthless", saying they were better off dead. Kaiser would watch the blood leak from his body, staring at it with an empty gaze before staring up at his parents with those red eyes. The parents clubbed him repeatedly while Reine and Lumiere screamed and cried until they were all beaten unconscious.
One day, their parents went too far while abusing them, and began to stab them in the stomachs. They heated their blades in a furnace before stabbing them, calling them demons who needed to be cleansed. Kaiser and Reine writhed and screamed, and when they got to Lumiere, she began to beg. "Mommy... Daddy..." They stared at her with those cold eyes before stabbing her too. She screamed in agony and it seemed like it lasted for hours before the parents finally left. As they left and shut the door behind them, Kaiser and Reine looked over to Lumiere, and in their desperation, broke free from the chains and crawled over to her despite their injuries. They held Lumiere in their arms, crying and sobbing as she spoke weakly to them. They kept trying to tell her that she'd be okay.
"Nero... Bianca... oh god, it hurts..." She choked out as they applied pressure to her wound, "Please... please help me... I... don't want to..."
She went quiet, and her eyes stared blankly at them. She died in their arms, and Reine began to cry loudly. "Our Lumiere... she's gone..." Kaiser spoke weakly, gasping as he struggled to speak. He tore a piece of clothing and made tourniquets for himself and Reine, attempting to stop their bleeding long enough. He saw the knife in her stomach, and it made him sick to his stomach, but he pulled it out amid sobs.
Their parents were starting to come back downstairs, and Kaiser hid in the shadows by the stairs. They saw Reine away from her chains and began to advance on her, but Kaiser rushed in and grabbed his mother from behind, slitting her throat, plunging the knife in deep to ensure she was dead. The father turned around in anger, shouting in anger and despair as he knocked the weakened Kaiser away and grabbed the knife, climbing on top of him and plunging the knife towards him. Kaiser grabbed his father's arms, attempting to keep it from stabbing it. Reine grabbed a nearby club and rushed to her brother's rescue, hitting her father in the side of the head and causing him to reel over in pain. In anger, she began to bash his head in repeatedly, over and over until his head was practically non-existent. Grabbing the knife, she plunged it into his heart for good measure before breaking down and sobbing and catching her breath.
Kaiser supported his sister as they headed upstairs, and he did his best to mend their wounds. It was here that he discovered an affinity for controlling his own blood flow, and it was for that reason they didn't bleed out. Carrying their sister's body upstairs, they brought her to the backyard, feeling like she deserved a proper burial at least. They laid her to rest, burying her and carving "Our dearest Lumiere, may you find peace at last." into a headstone. They cried together for hours, but soon, they realized they had to leave. The world was finally there's to explore, but at what cost?
Years passed, and the two were living on their own on the streets, often finding shelter in abandoned buildings or alleyways. They hated everyone they came across, frightened they might hurt them, or that they would be led into a false sense of security. Eventually, they ended up in a gang, and it was here that their superiority complex was born. They saw everyone else as inferior to them, even their other gang members. They helped beat innocent people for the sake of survival, and at one point, they decided to oust the gang leader himself, taking control of the gang. They led it for a year before they decided they wanted a different path, and Kaiser ended up finding his way to Riot. Reine didn't follow in his footsteps, but instead, enrolled at Public High School #552 for her own reasons. She couldn't cause the level of destruction her brother could, but she knew she could pick people apart and share her pain in her own way.
At least, that was her intention. Despite Kaiser's "death" at the hands of 552, Bianca's vendetta was short-lived. She met Vivi Eris and she found herself softening up. Her life started to change, and she learned to be a lot less hateful. Before she knew it, she found herself as a member of Hyperion.
When the black mist descended upon the city, Bianca was among those who found themselves fighting the masked creature known as the Sentinel. One by one, she watched her allies fall, and no matter what she did she just wasn't strong enough to put the beast down. In an act of sacrifice that would most certainly kill her, she jumped in front of a fatal attack meant for a friend, ensuring she would survive to continue battling. The attack hit her like a truck, knocking her out instantly.
She awoke in the hospital, surrounded by the wounded and the dead. She was haunted by her nightmares, by the winged beast that they had fought, and she screamed nonstop, her wounds opening up as blood and darkness flew everywhere, destroying everything in the room. It seemed she had inherited some of the Sentinel's power, rather than lose her life. And it frightened her. She met with Valo, the leader of Hyperion, who found a way to keep it in check for her.
And then the District walls went up.
Hyperion was branded terrorists, and Bianca among their number. In the ensuing chaos, she was found and cornered by members of her old gang, the Kings. They beat her down and captured her, before imprisoning her and torturing her for several days and several nights. They wanted vengeance for Bianca and Nero usurping control of the Kings, and they wanted justice for Hyperion trapping the city within a military zone. She didn't know where anyone was who could help, or how to get in touch with anyone. She remained hanging from a chain in the ceiling for what felt like years, being barely kept alive before the daily beatings came in. And when the Kings thought they had enough, they plunged a knife deep into her gut with the intention to let her bleed to death.
Bianca hung there, feeling the life leave her body as the Kings left the room. She was alone with her thoughts, and had no strength left to even cry. She thought of Vivi. Of Hyperion. Of Nero and Umbra. And how she was going to die in this place and no one would ever know. She cursed this life with everything she had. She could feel that lament welling up inside of her. It was all she had left.
She didn't know what happened next, but she could feel the strength returning to her body. The knife flew out of her gut, landing in the floor cleanly. She looked down, seeing her wounds close themselves, and she felt a new power surging through her. From one of the open cuts on her wrist, she began to manifest a scythe made purely of her blood, shattering the chains that held her. Landing on the ground, she panted heavily as she looked at what she had just done, and began to laugh hysterically. The power her brother had... it was given to her on what should've been her death bed.
The Kings came back into the room during the commotion, seeing Bianca standing there menacingly, covered in her own blood and tattered clothing as she wielded the scythe as if she were the grim reaper.
She didn't let a single one get away. Making sure she wasn't dead was their final mistake.
She walked out of the warehouse she was in, stepping over the bodies of the once Kings. Weakly, she would make her way back to Hyperion Headquarters, laying low until the government eventually dissolved the walls and brought the students to San Francisco.
Bianca was out of commission the majority of the time they spent in New York, spending most of her time in Helios training while she laid low with her brother, Nero. Learning Vivi had come back with them, she began to try and think of ways to potentially win her once enemy's affection. However, such a joy was cut short when Synkka, the Wraith that once inhabited Valo, attacked Helios. In his terrifying power, he subdued both of the Lucani siblings, using the two of them and Cassie as bait to draw Valo in. Somehow, he and Bianca managed to get through Synkka's traps to save the other Hyperion members trapped within the fortress. Valo would send everyone away for safety, and Bianca didn't know what happened to him after that point.
She and Kaiser were found in a safehouse with several others by mysterious men, who later brought them to Melbourne.
Skills and Weaknesses: Bianca hits hard. Very hard. She is also incredibly cunning and observant. She can take a beating like few others. She's charismatic and tends to do a good job of getting under someone's skin or getting them to like her. She enjoys being loved by people, and tends to take it as far as she can if there's a benefit in it for her.
Bianca's fighting style is rather direct, and complicated moves confuse her. She never took an interest in the complications of martial arts. Has kind of a short fuse, and people can use that against her. Doesn't know how to back down most of the time, resulting in her getting into more trouble than something is worth. Doesn't make too many real friends.
Gifts: Bloodline Rebellion: Like her brother, Bianca is able to utilize her own blood in a variety of different ways. She is able to control it of her own will, hardening it or manipulating what goes on inside of her body in order to protect herself or weaponize it according to need. Her use of it is far more crude than Kaiser, who had mastery of it for many years before Bianca.
At level one, Bianca imbues her gauntlets with her blood, infusing them and giving them a terrifying appearance. This increases Bianca's strength by 1 tier when in use.
Sentinel's Standard: The attack that nearly took Bianca's life infused her blood with the dark power that the Sentinel wielded. At times, it makes her blood more volatile, resulting in some devastating effects as her blood manipulation grows more powerful, yet uncontrollable.
At level one, the dark power within Bianca can well up, and she can cause it to burst forth. This fires a wave of sharpened blood and dark energy all around her, dealing damage to anyone caught unaware or being used as a way to try and protect herself. More potent at point blank range, and less so the further away Bianca's opponent is by the time it reaches them.
