Name: Rayne Perrin
Played By: Tin
Faceclaim: Iro/Rainbow Dash (Crush Crush/My Little Pony)
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Weight: 127 pounds
Height: 5 feet, 9 inches
Appearance: If the first thing you don’t notice about Rayne is her rainbow hair, then you should seriously consider an eye doctor. Rayne's hair is definitely her most notable trait, and is usually the only description one would need to identify her. Her eyes have an unusual purple glow to them, the same color as the purple streaks in her hair. It’s assumed her power is manifested within her eyes.
Aside from her mysterious hair and eyes, there’s not too much to note about her. Rayne is pretty skinny and has very pale skin, which is a mystery on its own considering how much time she spends outside in the sun. A minor thing to note is that each of her nails is painted a different color, resembling one of the colors in her hair. Yeah, Rayne loves colors, and she always says each part of a rainbow represents the many aspects of her personality!
As far as attire goes, Rayne wears the same blue shirt over a black tank top, always with a pair of black booty shorts, unless it’s a special occasion. Which in case, replaces her shorts with a longer pair of black pants, and her blue shirt is covered with a thick leather jacket. Sometimes, if her motorcycle is involved, she wears leather black fingerless gloves. How much more of a badass could she be? ...right?
Occupation: Trainer
Personality: Have you ever seen anyone so carefree that they have no fear? Well, that’s Rayne. Rayne is a major tomboy, as she advances in most sports known to man, and she’ll do unspeakable things without thinking twice about it. If it’s fun, she’ll do it, regardless of the risk of her own life. She knows what hurts, she knows what kills, and she knows how to land an elbow drop from 13,000 feet in the air.
Despite her daring personality, Rayne is a very nice and caring person. Treat her with kindness, and she’ll treat you like you’re the only person on Earth.. with probably many childish pranks. Rayne is all about jokes, pranks, and scaring the living hell out of people with her unusually sharp gaze. But with all jokes aside (see what I did there?) Rayne would travel to the end of the world and back to keep the people she cares about safe. Loyalty is a trait she takes pride in.
Underneath her tough facade and even her good heart, lies something much darker. Rayne suffers from depression that continues to grow from day to day, it doesn’t show much, but when it does it’s alarming. After all, seemingly without a care in the world, what would stop her from doing something she may regret?
Background: Rayne, from childhood, has always been an outcast. When other kids were inside playing with toys, she was outside playing in the mud. When others were doing schoolwork, she was playing soccer. In spite of knowing she was different, she never cared what other people said about her.
But if judgement from other kids wasn’t enough, Rayne’s own family excluded her from activities and even started to push her away. Her parents didn’t know how to raise a rebellious kid, so they assumed a new method to make her behave like her siblings. However, this method would actually turn into abuse, and in retaliation she began challenging them, determined to stay the way she was and not let anyone change her.
Unfortunately, her mental health steadily declined, and she eventually found herself entering a depression, in which, she became an uncontrollable ball of rage. One day, she snapped. What started off as a friendly basketball game turned into a “hit Rayne” contest, in which her siblings began to ruthlessly hit her and throw things at her.
Unable to control herself, Rayne screamed, and a beam of light shone upon her fair from above, coating it in all the different colors of the rainbow. But that beautiful gift turned into a catastrophe as she found herself harnessing the power of light. That sounds lovely, doesn’t it?
Unfortunately she was far from gone, and with a single strike of energy, her house was incinerated and her family was gone. With all of her rage released, she came back to her senses, however it was too late to stop herself from bringing harm to people.
Ashamed, she ran away, far from home with nothing but the clothes on her back, blessed with powers she didn’t understand.
But destiny would bring her to Astraeus Institute, a place promising to help her understand and control herself. Rayne hoped to be able to learn and help others like her by becoming a trainer at the institute, where she would probably spend the rest of her life.
Skills:
Optimistic - This can be considered both a good and a bad thing, however Rayne's optimism has gotten her through tough times in her past. Staying positive and keeping in good spirits can do unspeakable things for you when in difficult situations! Such as overcoming fears, unfortunate events, or in fights that seem beyond your capability. Her optimism may be the only thing holding her depression in the dark.
Perseverant - To coincide with Rayne's optimism, her determination to drive her towards her goals is greater than strength she has. Iro lives to be successful, and she always drives to be the best, and with her carefree personality, only few things can keep her from reaching her goals.
Perceptive - Rayne is very open minded, she’s an accepting person and embraces all types of cultures, backgrounds, and opinions, making her a great person to socialize with or to have as a teacher.
Weaknesses:
Depressed - Optimistic… but depressed. From childhood, Rayne suffers from a minor depression only known by people who pay close attention to her. Her depression sometimes shows more than other times, making it easy for someone to exploit her emotions and use her depression against her.
Competitive - Determined… but competitive. With a will so high to achieve her goals comes a competitive side even more difficult to stop. Rayne wants to be the best, and sometimes her competitive nature clouds her good sense of judgement.
Judgemental - Perceptive… but judgemental. Rayne may accept other people’s judgments, but that doesn’t mean she agrees with them. She judges things and people very critically, as a part of the ‘rough around the edges’ part of her personality.
Powers:
Rainbow Road - Once per thread, Rayne may sacrifice a large portion of her energy to create a giant bridge of vivid colors to a designated location. Allies that step onto the bridge are shielded, gaining a buff to their endurance stat by one letter grade for as long as they remain on the bridge. Rayne does not receive this buff, and instead turns clear, like a prism, obscuring enemy vision of her for as long as the bridge stands. If an enemy attempts to step onto the bridge, they will burn. The bridge collapses once everyone has returned to solid ground.
Rainbow Mirage - Rayne may create up to three mirages of herself to confuse, evade, or distract her opponents. They are able to mimic Rayne's actions and move telepathically -- this also allows them to speak. However, because they are simply "reflections", they're unable to attack. If someone attacks them, on the other hand, they will burn for being an idiot. This ability is greatly effective against those with a lower perception grade than Rayne.
Rayne also possesses a Mantle.
