Appearance: Emile is a short man, but that isn't to say he's a nonthreatening cinnamon bun. Piercing, dull grey eyes; a consistently sharp expression that's often times difficult to read; there isn't much about Emile's person that's friendly at first glance. With a toned and trained body, it's very obvious that he was at some point in his life a military man to those experienced with those types. Perhaps the only part of him that makes him approachable is his deceptively youthful face, and his simple, short and trendy undercut.
When it comes to fashion, Emile has an idea of whats in and whats out, but it's simply a formality to him at the end of the day. Something that is required in order for others to respect him, and he doesn't really take an interest in clothing or trying to appear 'attractive' in any way whatsoever, thinking that it serves no other purpose other than presenting who he is to other people properly.
Occupation: Cadet, former Apostle.
Personality: As a former militant, Emile's life was primarily lead in a way that was focused externally, dealing with things as they come rationally and logically. Assisting it is his internal intuition, which he's relied on for many years to guide him to success. A natural born leader, he always saw the world around him in stages to be surmounted. This was the attitude that lead him to become an Apostle, where his adaptability and quick, decisive judgments served to become a 'take charge' kind of guy.
He's always been very career focused, first with the military, then with the Apostles, and even as a salary man. Emile is observant, and is constantly scanning his environments for potential problems that he might be able to turn into solutions. This long-range style of perspective isn't without faults though; as while he may often be successful in identifying problems and finding solutions, it almost always puts him at an arms length from everyone else.
Emile hates a few things: Mistakes, mistakes being repeated; inefficiency and whining. He has little to no patience, and isn't naturally tuned into the feeling's of other people. Emile doesn't believe he should need to actively tailor his judgments in consideration of other peoples feelings.. so he doesn't. Ultimately this means he has problems seeing outside his own viewpoint. While this is simply him being honest and blunt most of the time, it causes him to come across as a forceful, intimidating and even overbearing man.
He has quite a presence, but it's one that typically causes him to be subject to scorn, alienation and times of self-aggrandizement.
All of this isn't to say that Emile is uncaring, though. While he does hold prejudices against the Gifted for New York and the other events they might have been involved in, he does have the capacity to be sentimental and take care of the people he holds close. He doesn't often understand other people's feelings, which leads him to go above and beyond what you'd expect in an attempt to make up it. Since he considers emotions to be a weakness; however, this sentimental side of him is often hidden behind closed doors or veiled behind stoicism.
In truth, Emile loves to interact with people despite how he might seem. He's an Extrovert, and all of his time and energy he's devoted to his corporate and militant life were for other people. Whether to protect them, sustain them or be around them; he truly enjoys a challenging conversation and respects individuals who may stand up to him and present themselves with some form of backbone.

Background: Emile Leroux was always a military man. Even as a child, he was born to a militant family that believed in and held strong ideals about what a man should and should not be. With the emergence of the Gifted these values shifted naturally with time, and by the time he enrolled in a Military School he'd already come to understand how dangerous they would be to everyone around them, if they were left unchecked. His direction had been different than his father's, or his father's fathers in this respect; eventually leading him to a new career path once he'd graduated.
Instead of joining the military as his father had wanted him to, he found his path following in the footsteps of another man. Joining a private military company, Emile found himself training alongside other men and woman, gifted included, in a program set in motion to prevent the sort of atrocities he'd been afraid of. It was grueling, and at times he'd even considered it impossible, but he came out the other side as a monster. Someone prepared to take on just about any situation that was thrown at him.
An Apostle.
While his name and face were nothing but rank and file during the incidents of New York, he participated and was involved with numerous Apostle activities while following in the shadow of Luca. With that man as both his role model and goal, Emile strove to prove himself until the event's he'd witnessed at the city. At a loss of what to do, he turned to become an everyday Salary Man instead of sticking with the PMC he'd essentially been raised in. Years went by, and he found his convictions had only grown stronger. Then, a letter of invitation.
The Starbound Initiative - Emile didn't know anything about it, but as soon as he saw the name on the letter, Director Luca Walker, he immediately began to pack his things. Seeing it as a sort of second chance and an opportunity to prove himself to the man who made him who he was, he headed to the Initiative as soon as he possibly could.
