Appearance: The dyed pink hair of Mercedes is the first thing to notice about this Jersey girl, along with the sound of her bubble being blown. Her clothes are, typically, more meant to show-off her body than not. Her golden-brown eyes sit underneath her pink hair, typically tied up behind her. Her body is built like a dancer's, and because of it her legs are toned with muscle. Her lips are typically glossed, and her nails manicured. Her face typically has resting bitch face.

Personality: Loud and proud, Mercedes is the picture definition of bubblegum bitch meets alpha cheerleader. She is the queen bee, and believes herself to be as great as she acts. She won't hesitate to say what she's thinking, and she won't sugarcoat her words either.

Background:
When the orphanage sees a basket for a baby, they take them in. Mercedes, on the other hand, wasn't a basket orphan. She was left on the bottom step in the pouring rain, on the step of a New Jersey City orphanage. Yet Mercedes was a fighter, and despite being left out for a little longer than should be normal, she pulled through. She would live at the orphanage for the first three years of her life, until her father, who had no idea she even existed, came to take her home.

Home life for Mercedes was awful, as her biological father was not married to her own mother, and her step-mother, because of this, despised her for existing in the same house as her and Mercedes' half brother Samuel. Mercedes would be under the thumb of her step-mother, and grew up feeling affection from her father alone.

School was better. Normal public schools found her being a bright young student, at least in elementary school, but as soon as middle school and high school reared their heads, Mercedes began to exhibit more troublesome behavior. She would fail to do her homework, fail tests, get into trouble in middle school, and what with her inclusion into the popular cliques of high school with the cheer squad, Mercedes became like them more and more. Not that she didn't have empathy. Mercedes just happened to just learn how to hide it.

But series of events would continue on wards, and Mercedes would soon have a falling out with the cheer squad, where her gifts began to show themselves for the first time in the manner of beating the ever-living shit out of the head cheerleader, leading to Mercedes' expulsion from New Jersey's education system. At the same time, Samuel, her half-brother, graduated from high school a whole two years before her, and while the mother praised Samuel, she shunned Mercedes completely.

Due to this, Mercedes was forced to go to the Astraeus Institute, the only place 'a worthless freak' like her could ever go. So Mercedes went, to go live in the dorms. And so she did, where she would meet someone who would make her feel worthwhile. And so it continues.

Skills and Weaknesses:
° Strong-Willed
Impulsive? You're right. But definitely a strong force of will. Mercedes 'do-what-I-want' attitude is definitely stronger than her own physical strength, the only thing stronger than her boyfriend is her pride and determination. She is a girl with the attitude to match her looks, while her actions can land her into danger, she will keep going till the rough decides to beg for mercy.
° Empathetic
While Mercedes is a bitch, and definitely someone who qualifies as one, she is not heartless. She feels guilt like a normal person for her actions, but between her bitch tendencies and her empathy, she is likely to pick the former over the latter. It doesn't mean she doesn't feel bad about it. She's not a soulless evil person.
° Charismatic
The twisted other side of manipulative, Mercedes does know how to woo others with charm and good looks, without necessarily needing to manipulate others. A flutter of the eyelashes here, maybe just flirtatious in general, Mercedes does know her way around a conversation, even if half the time her words are filtered through her Jersey accent.

° Manipulative
Mercedes isn't just a tad bit charismatic. Sometimes, she is downright manipulative too. Positively and negatively, she knows how to use her body to get what she wants, and if it's for her own benefit, to hell with the consequences. All through high school, she got what she wanted by looks, her skills, and her attitude. If charisma doesn't work, she'll opt for the alternative.
° Impulsive
Her actions have, sometimes been called, impulsive. Her strong determination is ever-present, but her impulsive desires make her do things that others might advise against. For instance, fighting someone incredibly more powerful than her, and realizing she is nowhere near their level. Or buying clothes for herself because they look cute.
° Bitch
Mercedes... is a bitch. She says what she wants. Sometimes, people don't like the things she says. They don't have to though. Thanks to high school making her this way, and becoming more and more attractive to the right people, she has become a bit egotistical, a bit too prideful, and while she is empathetic, it's underneath bitch layers; like an onion.

Gifts:
Super Strength: A normal person can lift and fight with strength they normally have. However, thanks to awakening to her gift, Mercedes can punch with much more force than normal, and lift much more than the average person could with the same strength.

Bubblegum Manipulation: Along with her super strength, Mercedes gained a higher control over her breath, able to blow bubbles with gum to do various things; such as create bubblegum bombs, and balloons to float with.
