★ Harper Westcott ★ Played by: Kiwi Faceclaim: Fate/Grand Order, Mashu Kyrielight
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Weight and Height: 120 lbs & 5'4''
Appearance:
Occupation: Cadet
Personality: A sweet, selfless angel. A girl capable of little wrong, with endless possibility to her. Only inhibited by the body she were born with. A girl born with no ill will towards anyone, not a bad bone in her, at least, not bad in the manner of nature, but more physically bad. A cinnamon roll that should be protected? Maybe. A selfless girl, who will do what is necessary for the safety of those around her, even at the cost of herself? Maybe. A shy, timid girl who can't talk to boys, and still has trouble talking to the cute nurse boy who comes into her hospital room upon her visits or stays? Absolutely. She's smart, but she's not prideful. She's fearful, especially over her own power.
Background: Misfortune strikes, even when you're too young to know it. For Harper, misfortune took her mother upon childbirth. To the same fragility that she, herself has. Harper's mom was said to be this lovely woman, someone that the world deemed too good. Gave her life for her daughter's. That's what her dad told her. Often, would a young Harper and father go to visit her grave, especially on her mother's birthday.
To this day. Harper has been in and out of school due to the same fragility her mother had. The only difference between her and her mother being age, and as she grew up, complications would keep her in the hospital, taking her away from her studies. Luckily, her father was a smart cookie, and tutoring or home-schooling still allowed her to pass through school at an accelerated rate. Even when she was in the hospital for five months at a time, she still managed to outperform all but the top of her class. She graduated at the age of fifteen.
Her gifts came sometime in her high school career. Upon a hospital visit, where her life was in danger of ending. She had thought herself close to dying, and had drifted ever so close to the edge. To this day, the doctor's have no idea what happened, for all of her internal systems had deteriorated as if by old age, and there was nothing they could do. They watch the young girl die before their eyes, the flatline upon the monitor showing not even a heartbeat.
For a moment, Harper got to see her mother. She asked her every question she could think of. The beautiful pink-haired woman who stood before her would hold her tightly. And Harper felt the warmth of her mother ever present.
Then she came back. It was the oddest thing. The doctors were confused, seeing the heart monitor jolt back up, and her organs all coming back all at once. What made it even more astonishing, was Harper speaking to them without needing to move her mouth.
When the Astraeus Institute came to light, Harper's father was reluctant. But in a desire made cleaer by Harper herself, her father willingly allowed Harper to attend, over the alternative. Now, alone in the heat of Australia... Harper intends to better herself.
Skills and Weaknesses: ° Pure of Heart "A pure, innocent soul." This is by far one of the biggest traits Harper has ever had in her life. People consider Harper to be one of the nicest people they know, with not a bone of evil in her heart. Not even snarky! It's amazing to hear that there's an honest soul out there; not a trait many find anymore. ° Intellectual "GPA: 3.70. Not bad." Harper possesses a good intellect, and has a good grade point average because of it. Her IQ sits at 147, atypically. While she is smart, that damn goodhearted nature often jumps in the way of that brain. She reads so many books, and watches enough TED talks to understand them fully. Instructional DIY videos are easy for her to understand, or easy enough anyways. ° Selfless "Not a thing in return? Really?" When Harper does something for someone, she doesn't expect anything back. She doesn't feel the need for any of it. A batch of her cupcakes she could make, but does she want anything, even a thanks? No. She doesn't need it. Generosity to its finest points, and only because she doesn't need recognition for good deeds. She does them because they're good. ° Vocalist "The voice of an angel." One of her best hobbies. Often, when she has been in the hospital for visit number lost-track-at-twenty, she has read books. But sometimes she's there for awhile. So what did she do? She learned how to sing. Sometimes the nurses would ask her to sing, and while she is timid, she would sing, often being praised for it. Never wishing to pursue it.
° Frail/Sickly "Poor thing... so gifted, yet doesn't have the body." All of her life, Harper has existed with frailty thanks to her late mother's genetics. A condition her mother knew all too well about. Because of this, she has had enough illnesses and sick often enough that she cannot stay in public schools for a full year, often missing weeks at a time for her hospital visits. ° Klutz "She'd trip over a cordless phone..." To boot, sometimes her hospital visits are due to just tripping and breaking something, especially when she was young. Harper still doesn't have the perfect finesse, and trips up, but she's learned to live with it. Now she doesn't break her bones all the time! But she does bruise easy from tripping... poor girl. And yes. She did trip over a cordless phone once. ° Timid "Lacking courage... so a coward?" Harper is not at all the type to face confrontation head on. She couldn't be. She doesn't have the courage inside of her. Fear breaks her, and the idea of being put under pressure, and being the person to define the factor between life or death terrifies her. She has the power within her, but her cowardice impedes her. Not the ideal person to play scary games with. ° Physically Inept "She failed gym. In elementary school." Here's the thing about her frailty. While it is true she has that, it should be noted her physical ineptitude is astounding. She can't take a punch, even light, without getting bruised. She can't run a mile, let alone thirty feet without being out of breath. It's doubtful she will ever be able to fix this aspect of herself too. Very doubtful.
Gifts: - Cellular Activation: A selfless girl with a very powerful gift. Harper has the ability to manipulate cell, in a sense of speaking. More that she can force cellular activity to happen inside of a human body. It can heal the human body, causing cellular regeneration to fix wounds and such, and at higher levels, allow for rapid healing. This is a double edged sword however. Causing human cells to activate makes them work faster. This is a problem for many reasons, but the biggest one is via cellular division. By usage of cellular division, one's lifespan may be shortened. Why is this important to know? Cellular division is one reason why our cells repair themselves, and thus creates the process of regeneration. Therefore. While cellular activation sounds like a great gift in short-term, in concept, it causes a multitude of issues in the long-term. Healing should never be taken lightly. - Telepathic Connection: Through a certain brain wave Harper had developed at a relatively young age, she is able to converse with others without even needing to open her mouth. While this may not provide combat usage, it makes up for it in utility, as she can talk within speaking distance of someone without ever needing to say a word. However, the distance, for now, is very limited to being with thirty feet, and only one person. For now. Aside from that, it does require consent to speak mind to mind, which can only be given approval by the other party; never Harper.
