He had a healthy relationship with his parents and he lived a rather good life, well. He had no complaints until a specific incident happened, one that he will never forget for the rest of his life. While his family wasn't the wealthiest, nor were they impoverish, they were comfortable for a time, hard times eventually befell the family as his father was becoming progressively depressed and unhappy with his home life that one day, he woke up and just left. It was just his mom and soon, it would be just him. 

The incident happened around Christmas, his mother had gotten depression around that time of the year which only worsened everything and it eventually leads to her alcoholism problem, She started drinking, heavily. He often had to walk to the bar she was at for getting kicked out and while he didn't mind doing it, it was sad. To see his mother like that, but it wasn't until he got a call from the bar to come pick her up that would change everything.

It seemed like another night of him walking to pick up his mother, he got there, she was lying at the bar half-asleep when he got there to help walk her home. He apologized for the inconvenience as per usual and they were off, much to her dismay. And it wasn't until they were halfway home when everything happened. It was a desolate street, no cars, everybody was sleeping and the day before Christmas Eve. On their journey home there was a singular car riding down the street they were on, a young man noticed Freyja struggling and seeing his mother in her drunken state he offered them help. 

Freyja, being him, didn't take it, considering he didn't know the man and after rejecting, the man got persistent. He didn't wanna take no for an answer and when Freyja noticed this, a fear set into him an overwhelming amount of dread washed over him and before you know it. He heard footsteps running towards them from behind as a man jumped them. 

The incident from there was a blur. It happened in flashes. Screams, pain, tears, blood, he could hear his mother struggling to fight back until he heard nothing. The rest of it is a blur. He doesn't remember it at all. And honestly, he repressed a lot of that day. 

And soon, it was Christmas Eve. He woke up in the hospital, bruised and aching, police entered his room shortly after he was awake and soon, so did these other men. He didn't know what was happening but soon, after he told them, they told Freyja he would be going away somewhere. He still doesn't remember why they were there or what happened that day.
